and Challenge #442
Build It And They Will Come, They Said...
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: I'm sure y'all have heard that fairy gardens are all the rage and that they are being put together in all manner of ways in all of the out of the way places you can think of. And rumor has it that the fairies stop off along their flights to sip a cup of tea if it's left out for them, and have been known to even rearrange things in the garden so that you know they have been there.
2: Well, little Lilly really wants to see the fairies and has stayed up as late as she can and even got up really early and snuck outside before dawn and tried to find them, but no such luck. Then she heard about these fairy gardens that were becoming all the rage in the more metropolitan areas and she did herself some research. "Why, it's just like a garden, only smaller" she thought. "How hard can that be?" So she went about asking any and everyone she met if they had anything she could use for props in her soon to be fairy garden.
3: She gathered, sticks, stones, glue, brush, fabric scraps, plant clippings, broken mirror pieces, and even some Barbie cups and set about building her version of a fairy garden. She had heard that they liked to stop off mid-flight for some refreshment and she planned her garden to be a little fairy teahouse for surely that would entice them to stop for a bit.
4: She spent days playing, and puttering, and building, and planting, and painting, and finally she thought it was almost ready for visitors. So every morning she would try to get up as early as possible and race to the window to see if she could see any fairies. And she checked every little element to see if anything had been moved. No such luck. "Give it time" everyone said. But Little Lilly wasn't known for being patient and she was really feeling frustrated about the fairies not liking her fairy garden teahouse well enough to stop by.

I will definitely be sending a card to little Rylee, another little warrior battling cancer. This post was heartbreaking to read, having lost my little granddaughter to a rare form of brain cancer, DIPG, (hoping this is not what Rylee has). Pediatric cancer is very underfunded and the drugs/chemo are meant for adults not children, so the side effects can be devastating. One fairy card coming up Rylee.

I had to google Rylee, and the wonderful news is that her prognosis with treatment is 90%, yay!!! Happy dance for this little warrior, her card is in the mail.
I posted this in my galley and it seems like folks are finding it but thought I would post it here as I think that's what this thread is for... Lots to learn but enjoying the challenges.
Thanks for sharing this information for this very deserving young girl and her family. I am so glad I ran across this today. I was feeling rather stuck today as I was looking and realized I haven't done a tea pot challenge in a while and was drawn to click on it today and it couldn't be more fitting for what came to mind.
I didn't exactly go with fairies, but hopefully flying pigs will put a smile on her face! I added in some coloring options for her to do if she is feeling up to it, so she can share even more in what I hope is a ton of cards heading her way!
I'm sending little Rylee some Arizona Quail to keep her company in Fl.They are so excited to go to her house and bring her this card in hope of making her smile.
I am really going to try to come on a more regular basis. My apologies for often not getting to the gallery as much as I would like.
I hope Rilee likes kitties and fairy wings!
