WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #423
GET IN THE KITCHEN, IT'S A COMPETITION!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Cookie Carter, proprietor of Cookies Caterers in Teapotterville, has always loved watching cooking competition shows on TV. Chopped, Chopped Jr., Chopped Canada, Master Chef, Master Chef Jr., Top Chef -- you name it and shes a big fan.
2. So, when she heard the Food and Fixings Channel was starting a new program called Chopped Local and needed people in different communities to host a competition, she got her application in right away. In fact, maybe she got her application in a little too fast.
3. When a producer called to let Cookie know that Chopped Local was coming to Teapotterville, she was thrilled. That is, until the producer listed everything Cookie had to provide. Cookie had thought she was just volunteering the kitchen in her catering shop, but boy was she wrong. She needed basket ingredients* and regular ingredients, cooking utensils and appliances. She needed chefs yes, she even had to recruit the chefs to cook with those basket ingredients. Everything for Chopped Local needed to be done locally.
4. Cookie could have panicked. She could have told the producer she couldnt handle all that work by herself. But Cookie had a better idea. She knew just who could help. She is calling on the Teapot Tuesday folks to get this competition on track.
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION: Bring anything youd find in a cooking competition food ingredients or finished foods, any item found in a kitchen from spoons to appliances, and chefs to cook the food. (* For those who don't watch these shows, "basket ingredients" are the featured ingredients the competitors must use. They are usually a weird mix of foods that would never be found together in the same recipe.)
EPEC ~ (EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES!) Include a fun sentiment related to food or cooking.
