MMTPT420~August 9, 2016~Who You Gonna Be? C'mon, You Can Tell Me
Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #420
Who You Gonna Be? C'mon, You Can Tell Me
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Don't you just love costume parties? I don't want to go door to door asking for candy, but dressing up and playing pretend is so fun. And it is a blast to see what everyone else comes dressed as. So let's have a Costume Party here in Teapotterville. Right now! Right here! I'm signing us up for fun and games in play pretend land!
Rule 1: Must be in costume.
Don't have a costume? Don't sweat it, get out that colored paper and the scissors and draw a happy face. Maybe a pirate's patch and some whiskers.
Rule 2: Must be some bright colors.
And extra points if there is some tie dye somewhere on your costume. And maybe a peace sign for good measure.
Rule 3: These aren't really real rules because this is Teapotterville after all and there are no rules here except to have fun. But there may be a wildest costume prize with some judges sneaking around, and maybe one for the most colorful. And I think anyone who dares to show up in nothing but a grass skirt and a top hat should automatically get a prize. Oh, and maybe some of Mothermark's "spechul" tea will be in the punch bowl.
So teapotters, let's have the wildest, wackiest, most colorful costume party ever seen in Teapotterville and then we're all gonna sing "You Can Call me Al" at the top of our lungs.
Challenge Translation:
Bright and wild is the theme for this costume party. Bring your brightest, wackiest, funnest costume and join in the fun. Lots of cheer and encouragement to stay in the race is what we need.
EPEC=extra points for extra cookies:
If you have some sorta clean jokes that Al can share with the staff at rehab, I bet that would be a hit and should be good for an extra cookie too.
Destination Station:
This week our cards are going to Michigan. If you would like a destination for your cards, how about sending them to Al. He was brought to our attention by his friend Pat Contrapat
to find out why as well as get the address to mail your card, please visit post 526in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT420 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges.
I made a card for Al when Pat first mentioned him, however mine is already in the mail! I did not photograph it but I can tell you is stamped and watercolored the owl from Tim holtzs crazy birds and drew an eye patch on him. The sentiment said "just checking in on you" on the outside and "with my good eye" on the inside....
I made this yesterday for the CAS Challenge and it's already in an envelope for Al. It's mild humor for him, but it's another card going his way. I'm including a page of knock knock jokes. I thought it might help him converse & interact with others; an ice breaker. Who doesn't like a good old corny knock knock joke? Thanks for including Al in the challenge.
I think this is the first Teapot challenge I've participated in...maybe the second but it's been a loonnnnnnnnngggg time. Anyway, hope y'all like my cat costume.

Thank you to anyone sending Al a card! I must say, those tie dye cookies look fabulous in the photo, maybe I'll try making some- I'm into tie dye, too!
He's really going to be surprised by the cards he gets- he has NO idea I requested them.
I appreciate any "spreading the word" anyone does- the more the merrier!
Dear Stamperer types,
(When I say that I mean women, men, small children, goats, and other mammals who are interested in making Handmade cards)
Huge thanks to everyone who responded to Pat Turner's call for help for me.
As you know I am a recent double amputee and I was pretty much trapped in a rehab unit.
I am still unable to simply leap into a wheelchair and take off to wherever fun is because I can't get into our vehicle yet. Loading and unloading me is still a very difficult thing.
The three days a week I go to dialysis I am transported by ambulance and stretcher.
I am now home, not because it was on my list of things to do, but because Insurance decided they were no longer going to pay for me at rehab.
Home is a wonderful place to be Because at least the cats are here to look at. We have three and one of them says "Hello, at's going on?" the other two just ignore me.
That's cats.
I have to tell you your cards were a wonderful bonus in Rehab.
They started arriving before Pat told me that she had spread the word. So they were an interesting puzzle at first.
Also they were just beautiful! You can all be proud of the work that you put into these cards. I am a guy who has a hard time drawing stick figures So to look at how beautiful these cards were was terrific. It helped my spirits every single day.
I love the fact that you took the information about my life that Pat gave you and custom-made cards To fit those facts. How fun is that!
I showed them off to everyone of my guests and finally we put them on display.
So we had cards with mooses, pirates, grass skirts And top hats among other topics. That's because I always try to have a great deal of fun in life.
So thank you for being a part of my fun.
I hope it is not too late to be grateful. This is the third draft of what I wanted to write, but the electronics I had just were not working.
Pat gave me an address to use to get in touch with you and it kept failing on me. So this time I am sending this to Pat and hoping she will send it on to all of you.
You have a great Hobby and I was so pleased to be part of a Card Shower.
I will just put this out there. I am still pretty much trapped In one place. If by any chance you want to continue and toss another card my way I would be exceedingly grateful. However if there is someone new on your list by all means send it to them because it does lift Spirits a great deal and at least I am home and no longer in Rehab.

Thank you again for adding joy and enrichment to my life.

Pat,
Thanks so much for sharing. We don't send our cards for the thanks, but, on the other hand, it is always good to know how the cards affect the recipients. And thanks for the updated address - I will keep this in mind.
