MMTPT123 ~ THAT'S HORACE, THE TALK OF THE CHORUS! HE'S HEADED FOR DIVORCE!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #123
THAT'S HORACE, THE TALK OF THE CHORUS!
HE'S HEADED FOR DIVORCE!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion!
This is my story!
1. I baked 42,000 of these for now until Christmas! Hey, I like cookies, just in case you didn't know! Well, like I have said before, on Tuesday's we live in the world of make believe so did I really bake these cookies????? That is the question! I can tell ya one thing, had I baked these beautiful cookies, the first person that grabs one off the fancy decorative holiday plater and takes a bite is toast! Toast I tell ya!! If you put this much work into cookies, they are not to be eaten!
2. I have a little bio to share with you on this 7th day of December. Its all about Delores McNorris. Delores is a Taurus, and she's head of the Chorus! She loves her cat Morris and she married old Horace! Her daughter is Doris who's a wondeful florist and they all live together deep in the forest. Delores loves Horace, Horace loves Delores, and Horace and Delores both Love Doris and Morris. Pretty safe to say, they are happy from day to day. Except for during the 12 days leading up to Christmas! You see Delores, as the head of the Chorus, tends to bring her work home with her. She's always practicing lyrics. Year after year, its the same Christmas caroles that fill their house. Unfortunately Horace has always been infactuated with one Christmas carole in particular, The Twelve Days of Christmas. Why you say?
3. That's what's scarey, meet Harry! Harry is Delores' brother, the one who sees the writing on the wall. He knows the problem is that Horace loves the drums, always has, always will, and every Christmas he just can't wait to get to the 12 Drummers Drumming part! Every year he lovingly reinacts the song and brings his wife the gifts of the 12 days of Christmas on the appropriate day, until he finally gets to the 12th day when he can bring home 12 Drummers Drumming and won't get in "noise" trouble with his wife because hey, its part of the song!!! This is beginning to wear on Delores and she has begun to confide in the Chorus. At the last rehersal, it became quite clear she is about to crack when she began to whine about her house being filled with 42,000 turtles doves, golden rings, french hens, maids a milkin, pipers pipin', you get the picture! Harry sees that word has spread throughout their community because when Horace goes shopping for Delores, here's what the people are saying......That's Horace, the Talk of the Chorus. He's headed for Divorce!!
4. Harry took it upon himself to empty Delores house of all traces of the 12 days of Christmas and he has rented a little studio on the other side of the forest where Horace can hire full time drummers to play year round, 12 of them! Now, all he has to do is fill her house back up with the things she loves and do a little Christmas decorating in a more *normal* fashion. That's where we come in! Here's what Delores likes. She loves teapots, chocolate, books, and entertaining her friends for brunch, a simple cup of coffee or glass of wine! Oh and music, her favorite music is jazz! So bring her favorites and bring all that jazz!!! And don't forget the Christmas decorations! Christmas trees, snowmen, wreaths, candy canes, holly, jingles bells, Santa smells, I mean Santas, reindeer, etc. You get the picture! But whatever you do, don't bring this:
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!
If you do Harry won't even let you in the back door! But, if you happen to forget and come all this way with a forbidden item, there is a window on the side of the house, it's the closest one to the chimney. I'll meet you there, that's where the cookies will be. Shh...here comes Harry!
Teapot Tuesday Destination Station #123
This week's destination is Winnepeg, Canada. Yep, told ya its a long way! We are sending our cards to Felicia who is the sister in law of fellow SCSer/Teapotter, Vicki (VickyDee). Felicia's husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March & passed away in June, leaving Felicia a widow with 3 daughters at the young age of 44. Felicia is a nurse and guess what? The things that Delores likes are really the things that Felicia likes! This will be the first Christmas the girls will have without their husband/father. We're bringing some of Felicia's favorite things and a little Christmas cheer to put a bright spot in their holiday.
For more information about Felicia as well as the address to mail her cards to please visit Post #160 of the The Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread, should you decide to send your challenge card to Felicia.
Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is strictly voluntary.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT123 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it a couple days after the Tuesday Challenge is posted. So, be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
Happy Birthday everyone! Lisa and Kelly I should posted birthday wishes in last week's thread but I wasn't thinking! Hope all four of you have wonderful birthdays this week. We have two sets of twins this week! Tee hee!
I hope all of our cards deliver a bit of cheer to Felicia - she can certainly use a few smiles this holiday season. Here is my card. Thanks for looking.

I would also be less than pleased if my husband started giving me flocks of birds, livestock, lords and ladies, etc for Christmas. I could handle the golden rings. I've made Delores a girly pink wreath for her front door. Here is mine.
Happy Birthday to my twin Kelly! Hee. And happy birthday Bonnie and DaisyDilly. Hope you enjoy your day as QUEEN. I am so happy to actually make it to today's teaparty. I have not been able to in a couple months. So here is my card.
Does anyone know how much it costs to send a letter to Canada? Just a one ouncer. Going into the post office is usually a chore I tend to skip if at all possible.

It's 75 cents to Canada.
It's 79 cents to Mexico.
It's 98 cents to just about everywhere else (Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc.)
