REQUEST A TEAPARTY FOR A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER!

WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY AND
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY

REQUEST A TEAPARTY FOR A
FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER.

This is my story!

1. As you know, each Teapot Tuesday weekly challenge identifies a destination (recipient) for the cards made as a result of each challenge. This part of the challenge (the mailing of your card to the suggested recipient) is optional, is completely 100% voluntary and not a requirement of the challenge. But, I must say, SCSer's are a kind hearted, generous, and wonderful group of stampers and most of the cards uploaded into the gallery are sent to the designated recipient each week resulting in quite a mailbox full of happy mail!

2. Unfortunately there are not enough Tuesdays in the month and we find that the schedule fills up quite quickly. From time to time, we have to juggle the dates, switching days here and there depending on the recipients personal situation but for the most part, it seems to work and we accomplish some pretty nice gestures of kindness as a group.

3. If you have a friend or family member that you would like to request a teaparty for resulting in the challenge cards being sent to them, please feel free to leave a comment here. Leave a few sentences explaining the situation as well as requested dates, timing of the teaparty etc. Please remember that the schedule quite often is booked out months in advance but we do our best to accommodate all requests.

4. Please remember that although many of the recipients we honor have health issues, some very serious and even terminal, we also have honored recipients for happy occasions, such as special birthdays, special accomplishments, etc. In other words, we do happy as well.

Please do not use this thread as a chatting thread. Make your request here and you will then be contacted by one of the Teapot Tuesday Challenge Hostesses.

If possible I'd like a teaparty for my son. He is 40 with wife and 3 children. He has Chronic Lyeloid Luekemia which is the kind with the Philadelphia gene mutation and there is no cure. He has a great attitude with his treatments to manage but is severely limited in life now. He loves his family and the Lord. He is a movie buff, of action, comedy and has always loved the space films. I read Star Wars to him as a little boy before the movies and he was hooked on that gallaxy far far away.

A friend of mine's mom has been battling breast cancer for 16 years. They have now determined she has another type of cancer (I forget what). They have given her about 6months - 1 year to live (so this can be scheduled out). She has decided not to fight the cancer, as she has spent so much time fighting already. She just wants to live out her remaining days with family and friends. She is divorced and has 3 daughters, and several grandchildren. My friend suspects that her mom also may be developing Alzheimer's, so cards would have to be sent care of my friend. I can find out more about her likes and let y'all know.
Thanks so much.

My friend of 52 years has suffered a real double whammie. She lost her younger brother on Friday and then today, less than a week, her older brother. (Both health and disease related)We were all quite close growing up, me, my cousin, her and her sister and the two brothers. And have stayed very close these yrs gone by. If there is no space for a teaparty for her, then perhaps a sympathy or encouragement from the stash request.??? Favorite color is blue anything 60's .. thanks

txcrafter60 02-11-2014 04:21 AM

I know the calendar is probably full, but I am praying that we can squeeze this request in. I have a friend whose mom was recently diagnosed with a grade 4 gliosarcoma (rare & very aggressive brain tumor). She had surgery January 7th and has only been given a few months to live. The company we work for has allowed my friend to work part-time & remote so my friend can spend time with & take care of her mom. Her mom is at home with home health care nurses, aides, & therapists coming by to assist. I would love to send her a tea party of encouraging cards. She is a strong Christian and her faith is helping her int his difficult time. She is Korean and loves things that remind her of Korea. Cards with flowers and scripture would also be welcome.

Thanks for considering my request.

Hi, I am requesting a card drive to cheer up one of our favorite waitresses. It does not have to be the monthly challenge. Just some cards to cheer her and her husband. Sunday while she was at work, their house burned to the ground and they only have the clothes they had on their backs. She was supposed to have shoulder surgery on Monday, but that is on hold now. - - I do not want to post their address without their permission and I would like these cards to be a surprise to them. I thought possibly sending them to their name C/O me. Please let me know what you think of this. Thanks for all you do for us!

Cards are me 04-04-2014 09:21 AM

I would like to request a card drive for my best friend. Last year she had treatment for rectal cancer and this year she is fighting stage 4 cancer. We finally have time in our lives for each other and now I fear it is limited. She loves rock and roll and jokes, and grew up in the hippy dippy days. But I know she will appreciate any type of card and words of encouragement.
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness.

we would love to do this....

Hi, everyone,

I would like to request a Teaparty for a young lady who attends middle school (6th grade) in the district where I work. She has just completed her fourth week in two different hospitals far from home for loss of blood and platelets. She has undergone a barrage of tests including liver biopsy, has had numerous transfusions and is scheduled to have her spleen removed on Tuesday, April 15th, because at this point the doctors don't really know what else to do. The root cause is still unknown. If she has a good recovery she will meet with a hematology specialist in 30 days
If this is possible it would be wonderful if we could schedule her Teaparty in the next few weeks. I know that's asking a lot, but this little girl needs our prayers and encouragement, and I know it would mean the world to her family. Thanks for considering a Teaparty for her!

Hi Sheri,

I would like to request a Tea Party for a niece of my friend, Diane. Amy is a young ladyin her 20's who we had a tea party for nearly 3 years ago - here's the info -
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...e-t546041.html

Recently, the leukemia has morphed into MDS, the same thing that Robin Roberts went thru last year. It is going to require a bone marrow transplant, which they are hoping her brother is a match for. She is currently going through chemo, but if Patrick IS a match, they can move forward and pray this does the trick - if he is not a match, she will be having to to continue the chemo into next year and be put on an international transplant list and WAIT.

Hoping you have room for a tea party right now - ANYthing to keep her spirits up!! Their family has been through a lot in the past 5 years - Amy's Mom had breast cancer, and TWO of her cousins died from accidents. Hope we can swing this teaparty! All of her info is in the above link from the MMTPT181.

Thanks, Sheri!

Hi Sheri,

I would like to request a Teaparty for my DH who is going in for back surgery February 26th. He has been suffering with terrible pain and having difficulty getting around. I know it would give him a real lift to receive cards. If it is possible he loves wood work and now makes beautiful knives. His family means everything to him and the church is of great importance.
He also loves fishing.

We have to go to Calgary for the surgery so will be at our daughters place. Cards can be sent to:
Harry Wilnechenko
℅ 457 CountryHills Place NW
Calgary, AB
T3K 3Y9

I realize this is short notice so I will understand if it is not possible.

Thanks Sheri
Faith

A Tea Party for a Lady Turning 103 Years Old

Hello,

I would like to request a tea party for a sweet lady who is turning 103 on March 18th. She is a former school teacher and a distant relative of mine. She resides in a nursing home and a birthday celebration is planned. Since her eyesight is failing, I think she would enjoy brightly colored cards. She would also enjoy scripture messages. Thank you for considering a tea party for her.

Rita

I would like to request a teaparty for our own Donnajeanne. Her husband is very ill, he is uncomfortable sharing his condition so we can't shower him with cards. However Donnajeanne is really down. She is faithful to the Teapotters every week and I know she would love and really needs some teapotters love.. She never asks for herself. So I am!
Thanks a bunch.

redi2stamp 06-19-2016 03:11 AM

Hello, I would like to request a tea party for my little grandson, Jack Bradley. He will be three on November 8.

He has to have surgery for a hernia in his abdomen and one on his belly button. Surgery will be at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee on September 8th. He will be recovering at home.

He loves trains, or should I say adores any think that has trains on it. He plays everyday with his Thomas little wooden trains. I just got him a learning carpet with trains too!

Jack is the sweetest little child any one could ask for, he gives the most amazing hugs all the time to every family member but especially his grandmother who watches him during the week.

His mother, Timberann is so worried about the surgery, so a note of encouragement to her in his card would be very appreciated! My son, Bradley, is the rock holding her together through all of this.

Their address is
Jack Bradley Otto
N173 W20072 Raymond Road
Jackson, WI 53037

Parents: Bradley R. and Timberann T. Otto

Thank you so much!
Ann

You bet.....will get back to you on timing of the teaparty

annsforte3 09-02-2016 11:28 AM

Hi Sheri,

Jack's parents were informed today that his surgery is going to have to be postponed until Sept. 22.

The surgeon found out she has some kind of family business to take card of that day. They are so upset about having to wait. They could have gone with a different surgeon but my daughter-in-law said, we've already met with this one, know what she is going to do, and was highly recommended by their pediatrician so why would we switch for a date.

Hope you can still work Jack in for cards on that week!

annsforte3 01-14-2017 09:17 AM

Hi Sheri, I have another request for a card drive for my Aunt Mimi (Mary). She has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has also gone to her brain. Her first radiation treatment was yesterday for the brain. She will begin immunotherapy on the 23rd of this month for the lung.

She has been through so much in the last month, finding out about her condition but also, she just lost her spouse, John, on December 29, 2016 to esophagus cancer. He suffered for 2 years with the condition.

Aunt Mimi is 82 years old and a retired English professor, she is deeply religious, (her spouse was a deacon) and she plays the piano.

My father, her older brother, also suffered the same, lung cancer that moved to the brain. He passed in 1994. This is a double jolt to her, remembering her brother with the same illness.

Her nickname is "Mimi" given to her by her siblings when she was young.

Mary Cermak, 10603 Pinedale Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20901.

Thank you so much, I know cards would mean the world to her.

Ksnurse 01-14-2017 11:40 AM
