WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY AND CHALLENGE #84
AQUILTA THE HUN, SHE'S NOT SO MUCH FUN!!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun!
This is my story!
1. Okay, if this teapot looks like a section from a quilt, its because it is! Snort! But you must admit, it's a teapot even if it is on the Softer Side! I was gonna tell you I whipped this little quilt up Monday night just for Teapot Tuesday but remembered that on many occasion, probably 42,000 times, I have said: If I can't glue it, I don't do it! Yikes!
Quess what? Betty (gbedwright) and I are combining our challenges today! That's right! Teapot Tuesday and the Color Challenge #261. Check out Betty's Color Challenge here.. Thank you Betty for being so kind to link together for a very good cause! Hugs to you!
2. The Tuesday Teapotters have been challenged! Yep, we are being challenged by Matilda D. Munn. You see Matilda is some big hot shot quilter that one of the Teapotters ran into (literally) in the Madd Hatter crowd in London! She has a real attitude, she think's she's all that! The bottom line is that she is jealous of what we do with paper and the fun we have on Teapot Tuesdays. She says we don't have a softer side, that we can't do quilts! I said, uh huh! We can too!!! She says we can't stitch a single stitch! I said, uh huh! We can too! She said we've never been to the Quilter's Hall of Fame! I said, uh huh! We have too! (Shhh! Just a little white lie!) She said, Oh yah? I said, Oh Yah! She said, Well put your money where your teapots are! I said, You're on!! She's no Matilda D. Munn, she's Aquilta The Hun! Snort!
3. So here's the deal, Chenille! Chenille works part time at the Quilter's Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana and is hopelessly addicted to quilting with chenille! We are headed to Marion to put it to old Aquilta The Hun. Be nice to Chenille, she is the judge, the one we need to butter up, show our softer side to!! You get the picture, bring your sweet little patterned paper, paper piecing, faux stitching, real stitching (for those of you that can sew!), paper piercing, fabric, ribbons, embroidery thread, anything quilty, seamstressy, or sewy! If you can sew on a card, do it. If you can't, aww phooey on it!
Warning: If you end up with a massive, twisted, matted knot consisting of a whole spool of thread on the front of your card, you have to come in the backdoor! Really, you do!!! Snort!
4. Once you meet Aquilta The Hun, you will all agree that there ain't no way we're losing this challenge! Oh, by the way, old Aquilta was bragging about her quilts averaging 42,000 stitches per square! Yah, right! We need to win at all costs! So, just in case, here's a little added insurance. Head to Plan B, another way to show Chenille the Softer Side of Teapot Tuesday! Read this thread (Love and Best Wishes for Lindsay!) and mail your challenge card to Lindsay. And if you are one of those Teapotters that tend to make goofy Teapot Tuesday cards (you know who you are!) then an encouraging card from your stash would be much appreciated!
Hey, this sparked an idea. If you all like this idea (The Softer Side of Teapot Tuesday) once a month we can bring our Teaparty to others, others that need encouraging/cheering up, Teapot Tuesday Style!
I have help this week with two great sample cards!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT84 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak (tea peek) on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it a couple days after the Tuesday Challenge is posted. So, be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenge, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges
We actually have a birthday girl on Teapot Tuesday! Sue....Happy Birthday Girlfriend. How fun that your birthday fell on a Teapot Tuesday Teaparty! Lots of birthday cake to be eaten!Maureen and Emily....your birthdays are just around the corner! Happy Birthday a little early to the two of you as well!
Happy Birthday Sue, Maureen and Stamp Muse! What a great month to have a birthday: right on the cusp of spring. Remember, birthdays are your days, so it's all about you.
Cindy, the links you've highlighted are going to TPT83 and not 84! you might need to make a minor change.
I'll email you for Lindsay's address. Thanks so much for bringing her story. I think it's a fabulous idea to share our funky cards with someone who needs a little encouragement.

Cindy, I think the idea to do something like this monthly is a fabulous idea!! I know I have many many cards in my growing stash, and this would be a great way to send them to someone who needs extra thoughts and prayers in their life.
Last but not least... HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Sue, Maureen, and Stamp Muse!! Yay, it's a big party this week!

Ok, I am new to this Teapot Storytime (and I'm supposed to be working- shhhh) but here's my tale. I stitched an incredlble quilt, baby blue. When I went out to the yard to hang it on the line to air it out I was stunned by the Melon Mambo blossoms sparkling in the blue sky. So, my card reflects that gorgeous view but no room for my quilt. Hope you all enjoy the view!
Great idea to combine the challenges, Cindy! Here is my card for Lindsay: CC261 MMTPT84 For Lindsay by cmsuto at Splitcoaststampers
I hope I can come in the front door since the big knots of thread are hidden on the back of my stitched panels! See you soon!
Happy Birthday to the March babies first and foremost!
Here is my card- I am definitely not a seamstress of any kind but I do know how to fake it! I hope you enjoy the card. http://inkbig.typepad.com/inkbig/201...wer-power.html
Also, please pm me with the address for Lindsey- thank you for taking care of her!
