Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
CHALLENGE:
I discovered lots of fun facts about Julie and Dave's home State of Maryland. Maryland was home to the USA'S first railroad, first dental school and first umbrella factory. I also read that you are not permitted to take a lion into a movie theatre - who knew!
Looking at these impressive facts, I thought UMBRELLA'S would be a perfect theme for our teaparty. Bring any type of brolly - sun, rain, beach, golf, delicate parasol etc.
Extra cookies: Shabby chic (cos' our sweet Julie loves Shabby chic and I'm sure Dave won't mind one little bit if our cards are a bit girly).
DESTINATION STATION:
This week, we're looking to send warm fuzzies to one of SCS Dirty Dozen alumni, Julie Gearinger, and her husband Dave. Dave is currently dealing with some serious health issues and Julie, obviously, is very worried and concerned. The old saying is "when it rains, it pours" - on top of Dave's medical challenges, Julie and Dave's kitty had developed a tumor and sadly had to be put down.
They've been given a lot to deal with but their faith helps keep them strong. Let's throw some love and kind words Julie's way. Julie likes kitties and nature and religious/spiritual cards would be welcomed. Send your cards to:

Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT576 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or just some warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to Jacqueline.

I have my card made, but have to run to work - I will post it tonight when I have some light to take a picture. I love Julie, she is so sweet and so encouraging to others even in the midst of all they have been through the last few years. She is a trooper and soooo talented.
Thanks for doing this!
Save me some cookies!
Hugz

Super challenge Miss Susie for me to use up these umbrellas that were in my pile of stuff to use up this year. I made a few so I could also add some to my stash:
Oh, thanks so much for bringing sweet Julie and her husband to our attention. I didn't know all they were going through. My heart hurts for them at the loss of their beloved kitty at a time like this. Cats can be so comforting to snuggle with during difficult times. If I can't squeeze in another card creation, I will send something from my stash.
I decided mine was too feminine for Dave too, so I upgraded a card that I hadn't been happy with by adding a sentiment inside and a die-cut on the front.
I know Dave and Julie have been through a hard time for a long period with Dave's illness. And, I am so sorry about the kitty.....that always is so painful. I will send both of them a card from my stash.

Susie this is on its way to Julie and Dave. It is so funny to me, because I am sending my cousins (Julia and David) a card as well today! Isn't that a hoot?

don't know how to post pics... sending a card with Hello Kitty holding an umbrella, and yes, same phrase: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's about dancing in the rain. (Hello Kitty from a Cricut Cartridge)
I love sending these teapot cards out to all these stamping friends I have made over the years here on SCS. It is an honor to make something that might lift their spirits when life's storms come. Here is mine:

Finally getting to post the card I made for Julie & Dave. Will put it in the mail today. Didn't get to my craft room at all last week and this week is not looking better! Here is my card:
Wow, ladies- you have blessed Dave and I so with all of your prayers and beautiful cards!
Susie, thank you so much for hosting this for us- Dave is doing so much better than a month ago for sure! Susie, your card was the first to arrive and he had tears in his eyes when he saw it! Such an honor to be part of this card making community! We are both humbled that you thought of us and are so thankful for all of the prayers as well as the gorgeous cards! He noted "wow, to think that all of these ladies are praying plus making these sweet cards for us- from all over the world"!
Please know that while we may not have the time to thank each of you personally, your cards are treasured! We will be looking at them for years to come as well as praying for each of you as we do.
Hugs and may all of you be blessed as you have blessed us!
I'm playing a little "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking. This is for the challenge "Rain, Hail, or Shine1" It requires an umbrella. My umbrella is broken, but hey, its an umbrella and it's part of the humor of the card!
I'm late to the party, so this card goes to my youngest son, who has been sick for over a week; hopefully to cheer him up, make him feel better, and give him a little chuckle: Under the Weather?
