WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE MMTPT587
“Showers of Flowers”

Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!

CHALLENGE:
I have a print of a basket of flowers in my bedroom that has this caption, “Nothing cheers the heart like a basket of flowers.” I think flowers do cheer people up, whether in a basket or vase. This week I would like you to put flowers on your card to cheer up this week’s recipient, JoEllyn.

DESTINATION STATION
This week’s teaparty request comes from Jan, aka Precious Kitty, whose church friend, JoEllyn is waiting for a new kidney. She is currently on a transplant list and can use some encouraging thoughts. Ironically, JoEllyn’s son just received a new kidney– unfortunately, they share the same disease. Jan tells us that JoEllyn used to enjoy painting and staining old furniture and transforming them into new,beautiful pieces that she would sell. She can no longer do this because of her illness. She teaches Bible classes to the children at church and loves spending time with her husband and grandchildren. JoEllyn’s faith is strong so cards with Bible verses and faith messages would be perfect. Let's shower JoEllyn with flowers and good wishes while she waits for her new kidney.

Well, I am really LATE to the party! I am playing challenge catch-up after hand surgeries, a long trip to visit my 94-year-old Mom, plus welcoming a new granddaughter, Everly Joyce, who spent 10 days in the acute neonatal unit. She will be 3 weeks old this Tuesday! She was four weeks premature and had respiratory issues, but is doing well now, though we would like her to re-gain her birth weight.

I made this card to fit the flower requirement of this challenge: Happy Wishes for a Dear Friend.
