MMTPT541 ~ December 4, 2018 ~ George Evans' Old Grandfather Rode a Pig Home Yesterday
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE MMTPT541
“George Evans' Old Grandfather Rode a Pig Home Yesterday”
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
George Evans' old grandfather rode a pig home yesterday.
When I was in grade school we learned that sentence to help us remember how to spell the word GEOGRAPHY. To this day, I remember it. And it's a good thing too because this week we're going to give our tea party recipient a little geography lesson.
Challenge: Our guest of honor this week loves history and geography so I thought it would be fun to include something representative of your home state, town or country on your card. You could use your state bird or state flower, or perhaps there's something historical or "famous" your hometown is known for. Do you live in a small town or big city? Include a little information in your note to Ruth - I'm sure she'll be be delighted to read these fun facts and I think she'll be extra surprised to receive cards from other countries.
Destination Station:
SCS Stamping Servant, aka Rita has requested a tea party for her mom, Ruth, who is a fairly new resident of the Brier Nursing Center. Ruth also recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Happy Birthday Ruth! What a milestone! Let's help decorate Ruth's new room with lots of fun cards. If you're not up for the challenge but still want to make a card for Ruth, consider a birthday or a thinking of you card including one of her favorite things: flowers, scripture, gardens.
Send your cards to:
The Brier Nursing Center
ATTN: Ruth Norene Pence, Room 506
979 Rocky Hill Road
Ronceverte, WV 24970
USA
Here is my card: Carolina Shores
Here is a quick link to the MMTPT541gallery
Be sure to use KEYWORD MMTPT541in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.

The Indiana state flower is a Peony. I was going to go with a cardinal but alas I do not own a cardinal stamp. I see shopping in my future. LOL!

I had to laugh at reading George Evan's grandfather rode a pig home as when I was very young stayed with Grandmother and grandfather and one of the things we did as wee ones was ride the pigs--may not have stayed on long but we rode them and a sway back horse were amongst the things we did as young ones---great memories they are.

I just received the loveliest PM from Rita. Her mum loved all of our cards and she has put them in a photograph album so she can enjoy them again and again.

A major sightseeing stop in Seattle, WA - the MoPOP Museum, which was originally built with the goal of presenting the history of music, thus its guitar-shaped metal structure, but has now branched out to include science fiction and movies. My card depicts a major exhibit, the Guitar Gallery, which details the history of the guitar, from the 1700's to the present.
Here is my card: Let's Celebrate with Epic Style!
