Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: Jennifrann/Jen
CHALLENGE: A smile goes a long way to brighten someone's day, so let's see those smiles on your cards today!
CARD TYPE/THEME: Supportive, Thinking of You, Hello, Encouragement
Recently, Jacqueline saw a local news article that caught her attention. She learned of a little girl, Jannifer, who weighted a mere one pound at birth, has never chewed her own food, and has had a mass of health issues in her short six years. Jannifer's most serious health issue, her failing kidneys, are so bad that she's on the list for a new one. In the meantime, Jannifer and her great grandmother (and caregiver), Shirley, travel three days a week to Chapel Hill (about a 3-hr taxi ride from Wilmington) where Jannifer receives pediatric dialysis treatment. Although she's uncomfortable and sometimes in pain while getting her treatment, Jannifer always smiles and brings joy to those around her. This is such a difficult plight for young Jannifer as well as for Shirley who has altered her life to care for this child. Jannifer and Shirley are the perfect candidates for a tea party, so let's shower them with comforting warm fuzzies and let them know we're praying for and thinking of them.
SEND CARDS TO:
Jannifer Johnson
c/o Shirley Wilson 1107 S 4th St Apt 104 Wilmington, NC 28401

Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT651 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to jacqueline via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.
I will make two cards, one for Jannifer and one for Shirley... I'm a great grandma to a 4 year old and take her to all her check ups and other appointments since her mommy works full time. Happy Crafting to all !
Here's mine, following my own trail back into the forum. I still don't see it where I normally access it :-(.
Polly said she can't see it in the gallery, but I uploaded it this morning from work so it should be there. MMTPT651 Celebrating You
I've uploaded a card for the CC challenge and don't see it in their gallery but I see it in my own gallery, yours is the same I see it in the daily gallery but not in the Teapotter Tuesday
Aw, thanks Polly for posting the link. I read the story but didn't see that video. I was getting teary eyed watching it. What a struggle for both of them. And, what a little cutie Jannifer is.
Please post links to your cards so we can find them
[size =4]****Due to site issues, not all cards are showing in the gallery just now. I believe this is true in other challenges too. So to make sure we see your card, do post a link here!***
Bumping this reminder up the thread as currently I still only see the first four cards in the gallery :-(.
I know that all the challenges I host, I encourage people to leave a link on the challenge thread in case of typos with the keyword or gallery issues. Well, this is one of those times!!!

Here are my cards for this week's Tea Party. I used my brightest colors to reflect Jannifer's bright spirit and I am sending hugs to her big-hearted Great Grandmother, Shirley as well.
when I tried few times kept coming up page not found and last week did not get that challenge sent as usual so had to find both other ways ---so you were not only one Sabrina

Yes, it's so frustrating. None of my bookmarks work, and even adding a link to the challenge in my upload is a waste of effort because they get broken too. It's very time-consuming having to keep on finding the way I can view the challenge :-(.
LOL Sabrina, as at least you are computer smart and then there is me---I muddle my way thru things and a lot of time is the scenic route that I take. Hugs D
Ack! This was sent in the mail last Friday, but I forgot to upload it! (We are remodeling our bathroom, & I've been a bit distracted...) Anyway, here's my card for Jannifer: To Lift Your Spirits
I also made one for her awesome Great-Grandma Shirley! I'll add it to my gallery later.

I received a lovely, handwritten thank you from Shirley Wilson, grandmother of Jannifer Johnson, who was the recipient of Tea Party MMTPT651. She wrote:
I was wondering how I was going to say thank you to all the people that sent cards with words of encouragement, prayers and joy. I cried and cried and thanked God for all the angels that took time during the crisis we are going through to share wonderful words with us.
Thank you is not enough. All of you don't know how this has made me feel to get all this mail from Canada, Ireland, Virginia, Texas, California, Maryland, Arizona, Wisconsin, all over the world from strangers. All of you are a blessing. Thanks to all of you very much. Like I said, when I think that people we don't know would share words of encouragement with us, it is truly a blessing.
Please share this with all the SCS Teapotters. I don't Facebook or Twitter, just text a little, so please, let them know I am honored and want all of you everywhere to know that I have taken all the cards and made a scrapbook for Jannifer to have and see all the angels God has put in our paths.
Thanks again, Shirley Wilson and Jannifer Johnson
What a wonderfully sweet and heartwarming thank-you. Thank you Dr. Sonya for sharing this.
Thank you for sharing, Sonja. How lovely to read this. Sorry about your attachment issue on the other thread, I had that recently too and nothing I tried would get it unblurry :-(.
Thank you for sharing this lovely thank you letter from Shirley Wilson, Dr. Sonja! I'm so our cards could bring some cheer into their lives during this difficult time.

I'm playing my Challenge Catch-up cardmaking to make a needed sympathy card. The challenge says to send comfort to let the recipient know that you are thinking and praying for them. I made a sympathy card to convey warm and fuzzy feelings and an encouraging smile of sympathy during this time of sorrow.
