MMTPT518 ~ June 26, 2018 ~ Be Glad and Be Plaid
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE MMTPT518
“Be Glad and Be Plaid”
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
It's the last Tuesday of the month, so it's Tickle a Teapotter time, and as our guest hostess this month we have
Kandie, kemernow. And in her own words, here is her challenge for us:
Hello, Teapotter friends. This is Kandie aka kemernow, and I am your guest hostess for this week's Teapot Party!
Originally I was going to use the other side of my handbag teapot, but as it is a bank, I was having trouble coming up with any theme other than money.
Then I began reading a series of cozy mysteries by Kaitlyn Dunnett. Her heroine is Liss MacCrimmon, owner and operator of the Scottish Emporium, located in Moosetookalook, Maine. Her fabulous destination store is filled to the brim with all things Scottish, including specially made kilts.
I vaguely remember a long-ago Teapot challenge about Moose-something-or-ther, and I am sincerely hoping this is not a repeat of that challenge!
Otherwise, here is my challenge to you. First of all, if you love cozy mysteries, check out this author!
Next, how about a card with any of these themes: Celtic (culture of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and some other areas), thistle (the purple flower, not the prickly things in my yard), tartan (better known as plaid in Indiana), or Scotty dogs. Or all of the above, like a Scotty dog wearing a tartan kilt, with a thistle flower in its mouth, dancing to some lovely Celtic music!
Extra cookies for including two or more suggestions on your card!
Enjoy the challenge, and also a plate of Scottish shortbread cookies, my treat. (LOVE THESE)
CHALLENGE: Use any or all of the following on your card: Celtic (culture of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and some other areas), thistle (the purple flower, not the prickly things in my yard), tartan (better known as plaid in Indiana), or Scotty dogs.
Notes from Sabrina:
We have a plaid background tutorial which can be found HERE.
As well as the thistle for Scotland and the shamrock for Ireland, both the leek and the daffodil are traditional emblems for Wales.
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other!
Check out THIS NEW THREAD in the TEApot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions.
Here's Kandie's card: MMTPT518 So PLAID To See You
Here is a quick link to the MMTPT518 gallery
Be sure to use KEYWORD MMTPT518 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.

Fun challenge Kandie...I like all the options. I went with Scotland using a castle, plaid, and thistle.

Moosetookalook?? Sure sounds a lot like Whykickamoocow to me. Are you sure this book wasn't written by Susie Australia under an assumed name?...
Sounds like a fun challenge Kandie, although I'll have to do some thinking/looking around to come up with something that will work for it.

It's a fabulous looking gallery, ladies! I took a quick peek on my phone last night when I crawled into bed at quarter to midnight. I'll be back to look at them properly and comment this evening, after work and seeing family off.

Found the dog online and then added the sentiment. Outside: How come you're not laughing? Inside: I tickled you!

Playing my "Challenge Catch-Up!" Here is my card using plaid and my second for the Cookie Bonus: the acorn (for the Acorn Oak...covers over 1/3 of the British Islands and was important to shipbuilding in the day): Fall Happy Birthday - Card Front.
