3 Attachment(s)
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY AND CHALLENGE #194 Mornin' Sam, It's The Cheaters! Where's Our Ham? Where's Our Repeaters? Of Course, Of Course, We Know What To Do! We Know Our Morse! We Have A Que!! Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun! This is my story! 1. Rut roh! We are gonna have our hands full this week! Good thing we went back to school to learn to count last year at our weekly teaparty!! We are gonna need those counting skills this week and we might just have to use the alphabet as well! Don't know how we get ourselves into these things, but one might say, never a dull teaparty! We're doing radio! We're doing ham! We're doing Ham Radio at our teaparty! Oh, and of course, tea and cookies on the side! Don't worry girls, to prepare you for this adventure, I did a little research and this is all we need to know..... 2. Morse Code! You know, just clicking on a thingy to make noises to communicate with strangers!! Number 1 through 9 are real! But, I made up 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 cuz I had 14 teapots! Duh! Snort! Okay, here's how to practice morse code. Take your sugar spoon, pinky up and tap on the teapot that coordinates to a number! No, you don't have to know what you are saying but just pretend you do and pretend what your saying is important. Don't giggle while you tap and try really hard to keep a straight face. If anybody asks you any questions, refer to this list of 1 through 14 and tell them you know your di dah dah dit's! 1 .---- di-dah-dah-dah-dah 2 ..--- di-di-dah-dah-dah 3 ...-- di-di-di-dah-dah 4 ....- di-di-di-di-dah 5 ..... di-di-di-di-dit 6 -.... dah-di-di-di-dit 7 --... dah-dah-di-di-dit 8 ---.. dah-dah-dah-di-dit 9 ----. dah-dah-dah-dah-dit 10 ----dah-dah-dah-dah-dah 11---- di-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah 12---- di-dah-dah-dah-dah.di-dah 13.----di-dah-dah-dah-dah-di-di-di-di 14.----di-dah-dah-dah-dah di-di-di-di-di Did you notice my di dah dah dit's are in the shape of a letter k? I did that on purpose! K means cookie in Ham Radio talk! Whisper: Not really, I just made that up cuz doing a C was too hard! Our little secret! 3. By the way, did you know you have to have a license to communicate on a ham radio? We won't worry about that! We got plenty of cookies to bribe whomever gives out the licenses! Not to worry. Okay, on to the next lesson in Ham Radio talkin' at a teaparty. We will probably have to do sumthin' with Q's! Yah, its a secret code or something. I really have no Que what to do!! Just be prepared to say you know your Q Codes and that you have memorized 42,000 of them. That's enough about that! 4. We won't know what a Ham radio looks like until we get there but it probably has dials and buttons and stuff on it. Pretend you have seen one before! Do some name dropping, pretend you know these guys personally: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Echo. I think they are really famous professional Ham radio stars! Pretend you know about Grids and Squares. Pretend you know about Ham Bands, Short Waves and Repeaters. Oh and listen very carefully! You should know that if you talk on the repeater too long, an internal timer will cut you off, and that means an Alligator will get you! (That part is for real!) Oh, and never use the work BREAK! That word is only to be used in emergencies, like if we run out of cookies! Okay, that's it in a nutshell! Just pretend the best you can! Ooh, ooh, shhh! Here comes Sam, The Man! Mornin' Sam, It's The Cheaters! Where's Our Ham? Where's Our Repeaters? Of Course, Of Course, We Know What To Do! We Know Our Morse! We Have A Que!! CHALLENGE TRANSLATION: (Aren't you glad to see this part this week! Snort!) Make a masculine card in several shades of brown. Use a number or letter on your card and communicate using a sentiment. Try to use a grid or squares. Try to use buttons or dials! Be a repeater and use the something twice. Use a band of ribbon, no bows please! If you bring a Q on your card, you will be the Queen of the Teaparty! (QTEA is the Q Code for Queen of the Teaparty. Who doesn't wanna be a cutie?) But, if you use the word Break or bring an alligator to the teaparty you have to come the back door. EPEC ~ (EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES!) You get extra points for extra cookies if your bring some tools! Or some some spare parts likes nuts, bolts, screws, and washers! We gotta make sure that if we break our Ham radios, we can fix them before we leave town! Which of you can do that? Just sayin' DESTINATION STATION: This week our destination is Hyde Park, New York! If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Charles. Charles is the husband of fellow Teapotter/SCSer Rosalia (JustMe427). (I think her screen name might be a Ham Radio Code!) Charles was recently diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery on Thursday, April 12th. Charles needs some extra support and warm fuzzies at this time, from people he doesn't even know and to find out why as well as get the address to mail your card, please visit Post #283 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary! Here is my card. Here is a Quick Link to the Teapot Tuesday #194 Challenge Gallery. Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT194 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card! Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater! If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog! |

This was a tough one for me. I don't do many masculine cards and really don't have a lot of stamps to use for it. I think I was able to get by with all the other challenge issues though. Here's my card.
