WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #146

I CAN'T GET THIS TWANG! THIS MUSIC'S WAY TOO SLOW!
I LIKE WHAT YOU SANG! LET THE BEACH STEAL THE SHOW!

Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!

This is my story!

1. So, does this little teapot look good to you? Don't ya wanna have some tea at the beach, run your toes through the sand, do some basking in the sun? Once we all get over the giggles resulting from watching 42,000 teapotters trying to successfully land in hammocks stretched between two palm trees, its time to relax, enjoy, and order up some iced tea!! Okay, are we are all in? Yup! Don't nobody make any sudden moves or sneeze or sumthin! It doesn't take much to flip these hammock thingies! Ha!

Well, you all must know by now that there is always work to do before we can just have our tea! This week's dilema all started at the Country Music Awards! Prior to the actual awards ceremony, something totally unplanned happened! A bunch of Country Music Legend's grandkids just happened to end up in a back stage dressing room comparing notes about how they have followed in the shoes of their late grandparents! Do you know how utterly embarrassing it is to be the grandchild of a great Country Music Legend and not have muscial bone in your body?

2. Meet Huck Owens and Skinny Pearl! I don't think I have to tell you who their grandparents were! These two have been buddies for quite sometime and have always felt comfortable with each other! After their embarrassment in that back stage dressing room, they made a pact! They are determined to make it big in the Country Music Scene! It might not be ON stage, but they will UP stage all those over confident country star grandkids bragging about their successful careers singing Country! Now for the hard part, how they gonna do that? As they were sitting through the awards, they both were amazed at the Rock n' Roll Stars crossing over into Country! Whut's up with that? Light Bulb! That's it! We could start a school! Teach Rock stars how to cross-over! Charge huge, big, gargantuous amounts of money to enroll. How hard can it be? We will be like Simon! Strike it rich by creating new Country Stars, maybe even get some royalties!!

3. Not only do Huck and Skinny have absolutely no idea how to sing Country music, they also have absolutely no idea how to teach a rock star to cross over into country! Well, duh! That's not so hard! All you need is a little inspiration! All you need is a beach! That's right, a beach! Hey, it works for Kenny Chesney, look how successful he is! Can't ya just see it? "Huck and Skinny's School for Country Cross-Overs!"

I can't get this twang! This music's way too slow!
I like what you sang! Let the beach steal the show!

4. Okay, so we need a beach for inspiration! No big deal! Bring sandy shorelines, sailboats, seagulls and seashells! Bring palm trees, coconuts, lounge chairs and hammocks. Bring beach towels, sun block, sun glasses and floppy hats! Bring lobsters and crab, and little umbrella drinks. Bring soft flowing breezes (please hold all the sneezes!) Bring a spectacular sunset or an early morning sunrise! Bring sand between your toes! Anything beachy goes! Let's turn this school into a beach! Then Huck and Skinny can teach! Ooh, except one more thing, you might wanna bring a quitar or two just in case the airline looses the luggage and the guitars don't get to the beach! Hey, it could happen!

Want extra cookies? Somebody needs to bring a one piece swimsuit! Skinny is so skinny her two piece keeps sliding down to meet the sand and things could get out of hand!

CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Pretty simple this week! Bring anything you would find on a beach! Second option is to bring is guitars and musical notes.

DESTINATION STATION:
This week's destination is Levvitown, PA. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Anthony. Anthony is the son of Joanne, a friend of fellow teapotter, Sue (irishgreensue) Anthony is recovering from a most serious accident. He was hit by a truck one night while walking outside the mall with his friends upon leaving a music store. His injuries were severe and extensive after having been thrown 56 feet. He has a very, very long road of recovery in front of him. Anthony is very very fortunate to be alive!

Please visit Post #226 in the Destination Station Thread for more information including the address to mail your card to. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is strictly voluntary.

Here is my card.

Here is one awesome card that Sue (Irishgreensue) made for Anthony. And here is her second card!

Here is a Quick Link to the Teapot Tuesday #146 Challenge Gallery .

Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT146 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!

Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Friday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater! If you dont' want to cheat, I am posting a sneak peak on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it sometimes during the weekend before the next Tuesday!

If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!

What a cute teapot Cindy and your card is wonderful (as always). I hope we can cheer up this young man - what a horrible accident and what an age to be recouperating - when he's wishing to be out and about with his friends. At least he is recouperating - the bright side! Will post my card tomorrow! Almost forgot to add my card - here it is.

crystaldolphins 05-16-2011 04:30 PM

I'm in! Card will be off to Anthony tomorrow. I think I must officially be a Teapotter 'cause I'm starting to add stories to my uploads (at least the why's!). Here's my card

hobbydujour 05-16-2011 04:40 PM

Darling teapot this week, Cindy......and another receipient that needs some cheering up with our cards. I went the beach route rather than music(don't have many of those stamps) : ) Hope Anthony's mailbox is jammed with cards,

I'm back from visiting my Mom and Cousin. Talk about getting all kinds of weather. 98 in Phoenix and 2 days later it was snowing in Southwestern Utah. And now that I'm home, we've had showers every day. I know spring is out there somewhere.
I did get a card out last week to Debbie and one to Bev (triasimite), but had a duh moment and forgot to take photos.
Here's my card for this week!

Im an active Granny
I dont sit on my fanny.
So much to do, Im never bored
I cook, garden then wax my board
I cant wait to catch that perfect wave,
just because Im old I dont behave.
I live to paddle out and Hang Ten
then turn right around and do it again.
My prayers for you are to get well real soon,
so you can grab your guitar & play a tune.

Here's my Surfin' Granny

I was going for the twangy guitar route but I had a beachy stamp set out on my desk so laziness took over and you've got a sand scene. If you view my card please note the teeny tiny bows on the green flip flops. Some colourful metaphors slipped out of my mouth while I was attempting to tie these and I ended up tying them on skewers. You can tell me my card stinks so long as you admire the bows and I will be elated! Here is my "Skies of Blue"
Cheers,
Elizabeth

I couldn't believe my luck in getting this image from Coco. I had found and bought another image that was just beautiful from her for this card, a guitar with a flourishing string of notes and beautiful wings and when she sent it to me she included this image for free. How awesome is that?! I think it was just meant to be. Check it out here:

Thanks Cindy. Wonderful destination :)

I had to make a card for Anthony. Concert on the beach

Suzy800 05-17-2011 07:03 PM

Once again Cindy, a great destination for our cards.

Here is my sunset card for Anthony.

Have a most wonderful evening everyone!!

Suzy800 05-17-2011 08:53 PM

After I uploaded my sunset card for Anthony, I went back and re-read his story. I got to thinkin' that a 17 year old young man who loves his guitar and music probably would prefer a rockin' music card to a beautiful sunset card. So, back to the drawing board I went. I'd just purchased this musical border sticker and thought it would make a great embellishment on a card. This is what I came up with for Anthony the second time around!

Hope you're better soon!

cullenwr 05-17-2011 08:59 PM

Joann6274 05-20-2011 03:47 AM

HI Teapotters! I'm Joann, Anthony's mom. I am so honored that you are all keeping my son in your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to both of us that you are all making these wonderful inspirational cards to lift his spirits up. Anthony has been viewing all the cards with me and he personally wanted me to say and i quote, " Thank you to all of you for making these special cards for just some teenage boy you don't even know. The cards are all so cool and I never knew that people would care about someone they didn't know at all". You ladies are very special for doing what you do here for others and the talent does not go un-noticed. I appreciate each and every one of you and you will all be in my prayers and heart! It takes a great bunch of special people to do something so heart-warming and touching to reach the hearts and souls of others. May God bless you all. Thank you again!

mother's daughter 05-20-2011 04:04 AM

Joann, speaking for myself, and I'm sure my fellow Tea Potters, it is truly our pleasure!!
To brighten the day of someone else, that's what this is all about!
You're in are prayers too!

julsanne 05-20-2011 04:26 AM

Joann, I couldn't have said it better than Jennifer. And Anthony does truely remain in prayers. Take care
Julie

Mothermark 05-20-2011 06:46 AM

OMG! Here comes the tears again! Thanks Joann! For taking the time to find this thread and post a little message to the teapotters. I will most definately email your message to them as well in case some of them don't come back here to check out the thread. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Anthony, what a great boy he sounds like! Hugs to both of you!

I'm sure all the others feel as I do that it is an honor to pray for Anthony and your family. It's really the best and only gift we can give you.

God bless and strengthen you day by day.

hobbydujour 05-20-2011 07:55 AM

Thank YOU, Joann, for taking the time for posting your lovely note....especially with all that you have going on in your and Anthony's lives. It means a lot that some paper, paste, a doodad or two, and a little imagination can lift someone's spirits. A note like yours makes it all worthwhile. Thank you! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Sallie

etsdas 05-20-2011 08:42 AM

Joann, I can only say what has already been expressed so well be several teapotters. We have a lot of fun, often giving each other a hard time, and if we can give a bit of inspiration while doing so, it is so worthwhile.
Thank you especially for taking the time to leave this note. Our prayers continue to be with you. Your mailbox should start filling up soon!
