Cool Yeah for a Newbie!

Hi all,

Semi new to the site, but I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lezlee, and currently am living in sunny Southern California, but in about 2 weeks will be packing it all up and moving to Findlay, OH...and I just heard it's snowing there! <eek!> Is anyone familiar with that area, because I could sure use some friendly feedback about the place. Thanks in advance and glad to be here!

Hi Lezlee,
Welcome to SCS. I live in Alliance, Ohio about 60 miles southeast of Cleveland. Not familiar with the Findlay area. The areas up around Lake Erie did have snow last week, but I think it has mostly melted.

Talking Welcome

Welcome to the discussion group.
I wouldn't worry too much about the snow. If you get snowed in, it just gives you more time to stamp. I find that once you have had a Christmas with snow, that any future Christmas' aren't the same without it. I spent one Christmas day sun-tanning on a roof top pool patio in LA many years ago, and it just didn't feel like Christmas. I find that I don't get into the Christmas season until I see the snow.
But I get some of my best creative idea's from nature, so maybe you will too.

Welcome again, from Edmonton, AB

Lynn

Hi, Lezlee, and welcome from Illinois (Chicago suburbs). Don't worry about the snow, it's really quite pretty as you'll soon find out.

I'm not too familiar with Findlay (although I believe it was voted one of the top 100 communities?) but I can share one piece of information with you - you'll only be about 2-1/2 hours from Shipshewana, Indiana. That place is awesome - my dh and I visit it at least once each summer (and I usually go again with girlfriends). They've got the most incredible, outdoor flea market every Tuesday and Wednesday from April through October - with over 1,200 vendors! It's all outdoors, great parking, and bargains galore (mostly new stuff). Shipshewana is home to a very large Amish community, so there's a lot of crafts and quilts in the town, as well as all the supplies/materials related thereto. AND THE BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD!!
Here's a link to their website: http://www.shipshewana.com/attractions.php

You're also about and hour and a half from Marco's Papers, near Dayton.
And of course, there's also Longaberger!!! So, you can see you'll be in for some great shopping in Ohio.

Again, welcome!
Linda
