Heart Scoring Board

Greetings!!!

I went to Michael's and they had a Scoring Board from Martha Stewart on sale so I got it

Now, I just need help on figuring out how to use it!!!

There'a a "Triangle piece" and I have no idea of how to use it to make an envelope!!!

Thanks!!!

I also have a MS scoring board but it came with instructions. If yours didn't then you may need to Google the MS web site and see if you can download instructions as it is a bit hard to explain otherwise.

I had trouble too even with the instructions but had my "aha" moment by taking an envelope apart. You can compare an A2 envelope to the guide (it should be on a sticker inside the folder compartment) and the visual will help you see how it's done. The triangle sits along the top left of the board with the compartment and guides away from you at the top.

I'm not sure if your question also included how to score but the only advice I can give is hold your bone folder at a 45 degree angle, or keep your hand as close to the board as possible without touching it and use your arm to pull down along the line. I find I get less skipping and accidental piercing this way.

Here is a good video on youtube showing how to make envelopes with the Martha Stewart board, and also using the Score Pal.

The first part of the video shows the Score Pal. Skip in to about 4 minutes to see the instructions for using the Martha Stewart board.
