Smile South Carolina Newbie

Hi! my name is Brandi. and I currently live in Sumter (well, at Shaw AFB anyway), SC. We just moved here recently after being stationed in San Antonio TX for 12 years (Texas is also where I am originally from, thus the name TexasBrandi). Since we were there so long, I had lots of friends there that kept me busy, but since we just moved here, I don't really know anyone, and haven't had time to make any friends, so have decided to use my time to learn about card making!

This new adventure started because when we got here, we ended up with gift baskets and food brought over and when I went to look for Thank You Cards, the only ones that I found that I really liked, ended up being $34 for a pack of 10!!

I made my first 2 cards yesterday and I'm so proud of them that I don't want to give them away! I made the "see ya later alligator one that was on the Stampin Up' Salebration catalogue -but I used the cuttlebug alligator embossing folder with gumball green cardstock, used brown ink on the raised part and then versamark and clear embossing powder. Wow! what happened to it was exciting-it looked totally different and more realistic! I'm hooked! (I saw a youtube tutorial on that technique).

Anyway, I still have a LOT of questions on all kinds of subjects, so I'm glad I found this forum!

Hi Brandi!

Hello from a fellow Texan - I'm in Austin. $34 - that's motivation!!!

I can't wait till you start your gallery - that card sounds adorable! I have some good orientation links in my signature - have fun getting settled and let me know if you need anything!
