New to board from Central NY

I'm so glad to be here. My name is Dawnmarie I'm a SAHM of 4 kids ages 12 to 4 1/2 mons. (one is bi-pollar, one very gifted straight A, one has CP and one kidney failure so to say the last I have my hands full) I have been stamping on and off for 5 years. But just started selling for The Angel Company this past Oct 2004.

I just move from long island NY to Little Falls (Central NY exit 29A on NY Thwy) last April, I love to meet now people and would love to get together with other stampers. The one thing I miss most about long island is my bi-weekly craft nights. I'm so looking forward to getting them started here but I need to meet people first. We moved here so my DH could open his own resturant. He is a Partner of the Landmark Mohawk Station Resturant.

Along with TAC I also offer ribbon by the yard, sampler, or roll for 25% off most retail places.

I have been doing desk top publishing for 2 years and I do all the advertising for my DH resturant (Yes I proof read and spell check all that stuff. I'm a VERY bad speller and I know it. I don't always have time to proof read emails and posts but I do check EVERYTHING I make for the business). I just love making class project sheets and am working on my first CD's. Since I can't get out and do to many workshops due to having 4 kids, and a DH that works 70-80 hours a week. I am now hosting classes on CD and my customers LOVE it.

Welcome..that is quite a move from Long Island to Little Falls. I live in New Hartford..not too far. I have not been to that restaurant in awhile but it was great!! I know of two families in Little Falls, not stampers but they drive down here to attend our church. Have fun here..it is an incredible site. Talk to you soon.

I lived in West Babylon for the past 13 years. But I have live on long island my whole live up till this move. We have family in Lindenhurst and west bury and visit 1-2 a year.

I will be going to abbe's on Sat. So I should be able to meet all 3 of you. I'm so excited. I will be bringing my 2 littest kids with me. The baby is 4 1/2 months and I don't leave home with out him. LOL. And my 7 year old that is dieing to meet new friends too. and Love's that Abbe has all boys.

I'm in Utica alot since the only 3 craft stores in the area are there. but I try to keep it to once a week to every other week. it is 30 min from here

I host stamping classes at my house 1-2 times a week. I just LOVE to stamp. I don't have many people that come since I don't know tomany people here yet but I still have a lot of fun.

My goal is to meet enough stampers that I can have a stamping/ dinner day at the mohawk station. (My DH resturant) We would get our own room and stamp and then have dinner. I went to a few of these on long island and they were so much fun.

Welcome DawnMarie! I am in Delanson, but my son & grandkids live in Canajoharie. I have 2 kids, and my 21yr old DD who still lives at home is Bi-polar & manic depressive. I have found that making time for myself is the biggest stress reliever, even if it is just 1/2 hr to stamp/scrap it really helps.

That sounds like fun, to have a dinner at the restaurant, I can offhand think of about 6 or 7 who would definitely come. I am so excited to meet you on Saturday, come as early as you can so we can have a chance to get to know each other and get the kids settled. My boys are excited.

Here are my toughts on it. I want to do it in the Spring and/or Fall (so we don't have to worry about the weather as much). We would have to charge about $30-35 (I would have to go over the cost of everything and then get the right price) I'm not sure it that is to high for this area for a stamping day and Dinner. It would also have to be NO KIDS (or have FRIM kid rules (KEEP KIDS IN LINE or they have to go - We wouldn't be able to have them running around the resturant - I know my daughter would be able to sit good and I know I would leave the boys home and get a babysitter for the baby)

For a Dinner Buffet and to have the room it is $15.00 a person. ( I might be able to wheel and deal this a little lower. Need to work out the details.) We might be able to get a smaller package. If we deside to do this I will talk it over with my husband and his partner.

Then we would take $10.00 for supplies (If your sister wanted to help we would split this amount) and each teach 2-3 projects each.

The other $5.00-$10.00 (would also be split between your sister and me) and we would get prizes. For games, door prizes, and giftaways.

We can get the room for as long as we want but would have to chart out the day and figure out a time frame.

There would be a lot to work out but it could be a WHOLE lot of fun. These are just my fast thoughts on it.

At this point I only have 9 customers (Still meeting people) but by the time I would have this I would have a lot more and I would put up fliers EVERY where.

I was just thinking a GREAT time to do this would be right after the two new catalogs (Stampin up and THe Angel Company) come out I think they come out around the same time. (end of June beginning of July)

it sounds great. After talking to my sister this morning, we realized that we probably had closer to 20 people that we thought would be interested.
I don't think $35 would be too much for this area either. Can't wait to talk to you more about it.

I'm new to this site as well and live in Sherburne. I am always in New Hartford/Utica for scrap supplies since the only thing I have around me is a Walmart 12 miles away (LOL). I notice alot of people are close to me and here I thought I was one of the only few around who scraped? I moved her from Detroit about 4 years ago so I don't know alot of people either except for my inlaws & the people I work with. I know this a site mainly for SU demonstrators but I was recommended to this site to get ideas. I just did a show for a SU consultant the other day in my town and I sell CTMH. I just started about 5 months ago and my entire group that recruited me is in the Midwest so I am all alone out here and would love to get to together with people just to learn techniques and have fun. I still buy tons of SU product but the biggest thing for me in deciding which company to sell for was I fell in love with the Acrylic stamps most of all. Look forward to talking with some of you if you don't mind me not being into SU.
