Hi Michelle! Welcome to SCS! I'm relatively new, too, when compared to others who have been here for years and years! You'll find this to be an extremely warm, fun, educational, and loving place and I only wish I had found it sooner!
Start by checking out the various forums, as there's something for everybody here. Be sure to read the beginnings of the forums or the "sticky," as they contain all the information you'll need to get involved for that particular forum/group. I've found that you can participate as little or as much as you want on SCS, but the more you put in, the more you get out of it, but isn't that true for life in general? ;-) Anyway, don't forget to check out the Gallery as well, as you'll get so inspired from everyone's ideas and talents. Whenever I have a block or get stuck with what I'm doing, I browse the galleries and I'm instantly revived! Such great talent here!! Also, be sure to visit the Techniques (found under the Resources tab) as they are excellent for learning and expanding your horizons, too!
Anyway, I'm not from up your way, as I'm from the north side of Columbus, but when I saw Ohio, I wanted to respond and welcome you. Jump right in and get your feet wet!
