Smile Newbie Here with questions

Hi. I've been lurking around this site for about a month now. Joined the fan club too. This is a great site and I have really went crazy buying SU sets. I've been thinking about becoming a hobbie demo. I don't have much time to do workshops and stuff...I work full time as a nurse, and with my son and his wrestling ( 2 varisty letters already and he's only starting his junior year!!!) , a daughter who's 21, a big old basset hound and a husband that asks that I spend some time with him and not in the craft room (lol), I don't have too much time to do much else. Anyway, some friends of mine and some people I work with are interested in buying stamps. I can probably make the $300 a quarter. How easy is it to do the ordering and is it worth it just to get the discount? I spend about $150 or so a month on stamps and supplies. Thanks in advance. And this site is so wonderful!!! Everyone is so friendly and the ideas!!!! So many questions answered.

I don't have much time for it either, and am not much of a sales person, but it is still worth it for me. If you can easily sell $100 per month it will be worth it to you. SU welcomes all types of demonstrators so there will be no pressure to spend more time than you feel comfortable. If you are spending that much per month it is always a little party, so you will get your discount, plus free spending $$ plus a hostess set. For my close friends I give them my discount (not much really) but I collect their orders and keep the free $$ and hostess set for myself, unless of course they have ordered enough to make it their own party.

I hesitated for along time and then realized I was spending so much time thinking about it, it was better to try it, and if I didn't like it I could just quit and know I didn't like it. Take a look at the starter kit, there are some things you may already have, some you can switch out, and others you can always resell .....

good luck

If you are already spending $150 a month for materials, I would say it is definately worth joining just for the discount. You only have to me sales of $300 per quarter to stay active. Ordering is very easy. Good luck in your decision.

I'm a new demo and a student, so I understand the not having a lot of time for doing workshops thing and love that SU! is so flexible as far as a time commitment! If you're able to order enough to make the minimums on your own and can wait every once in a while and place that $300 as a single hostess order rather than two smaller ones, you can get a Level Two hostess set and more free stuff.

Becoming a Demo sure has helped me with the discounts. I have not had any problems getting the quarterly quota from orders from friends and my self! Good luck with your decision!!

Hi and welcome! I am not a demo yet.... I am very close though and it sounds like from the other posts here that you just have to jump in and try it out. I am very much weighing the pros and cons and thinking about all the what-if's, but I think when I finally do join I'm going to wish I did it long ago. All that nonsense to say.... GO FOR IT!

I'm a demo, and I haven't regretted it (maybe my husband has though). If you're buying $150/month on your own, you already have enough to remain active. You might as well get the discount. OEX is no problem for order entry - pretty easy
