Default New to SCS -- Johannah from South Carolina

Hi everyone!

I found this site through someone I met on Ebay. I guess she could tell I was lonely -- I am the only crafter I know -- and she suggested I try this site. I just want to "be" somewhere online where people speak the same language. I am looking for better critique of my cards than just "cool!" (though I appreciate my husband for always saying that, and for putting up with my long descriptions of how you heat emboss and how using the same ink and paper with different powders can give totally different effects, etc ... lol).

I have been "seriously" stamping/embossing/die cutting/Silhouette-ing/etc for about a year now. I am a major Spellbinders fan, own a Sizzix Big Shot, a Spellbinders Grand Calibur, a Silhouette Portrait and a Teresa Collins Stampmaker. My husband says that I own ALL of the embossing folders in the whole entire world...lol.

I am also a web designer who works at home, so I make a lot of my own graphics and stamps. I have a bunch of stuff to do digital scrapbooking but have never done a layout. Mostly I just use the digital elements to design cool graphics for Facebook and other social media.

Anyway ... just hoping to meet some likeminded people. I'd love to post some cards for critique and some specific questions like "how do you keep stuff from rubbing off inside the envelope when you send a card?" and so on.

Hi Johannah and welcome from New Zealand! You are in the right place for people who speak your language so enjoy exploring the forum! If I am in any doubt about my cards surviving the post I put a single layer of bubble wrap over the card. Unless the card is super embellished (which is not my style anyway) there is generally room in the envelope for this extra protection.
