Default New and a little overwhelmed

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to finally join and participate in the boards. I've been lurking for a few weeks and it seems like a friendly and informative board. I've been a scrapbooker for years and am wanting to learn more about stamping and making cards. I've come here to do a few searches in the past few weeks, and finally decided to jump in and start posting.

The overwhelmed part comes from there being so much to learn, and of course so much to buy. The more I read here, the more my list of what I want to buy grows. In that way it reminds me of when I first got into scrapbooking. I'm kind of trying to get a handle on where to even begin. Hopefully being here will give me a nudge in the right direction!

Hi and welcome from New Zealand! You are in the right place for inspiration and advice. I have been stamping and card making for around 10 years and I would be very happy to answer any questions. Even after 10 years I still have a shopping list for stamping products!

Hi there and welcome!

You're definitely in the right place - everyone is very helpful, and you won't have any trouble finding more things to buy after seeing the gallery!

We have our Virtual Scrapbooking Night coming up soon - it's a fun weekend of scrapping challenges to fire up your mojo and it's fun to chat with everyone while they're working - be sure and visit the challenge forum for info on that.

Let me know if I can help you with anything!

Welcome! It is such a natural progression from scrapbooking to card making. I'm sure your experience in layout, color choices etc. will help your transition, not to mention the overlap in tools and supplies. This is a great supportive community and remember "There's no such thing as a stupid question!" Ask away because it is probably something someone else wants to know or that we all had to ask or figure out ourselves! Gail

Warning Warning Warning! This site is VERY dangerous. You will be hit with the sudden urge to buy things that YOU MUST HAVE AND CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT regardless of the fact you never even heard of them before today.

Welcome to the madness - from Texas.

I can definitely see this site being a downfall for me, budget wise! But I'm enjoying it so much. I'm reading The Rubber Stamper's Bible and trying to determine how to begin. Like I said, overwhelming!

Is that The Rubber Stamper's Bible by Francoise Read? I have that book too! I have tried most of the techniques in it so if you have any questions, I would be happy to help.

Yes, that's the one! I just got it yesterday, so I'm not very far into it. I'm still at the gathering basic supplies part, which I'm trying to do without breaking the bank!
