I had no idea who Tim Holtz.. until I goggle searched him and found a few pages about him. He sounds amazing.... and his products sounds neat too.. old linen coloured ink!!! How great is that for making aged old Victorian.. or Bontanical type cards!

Oh.. now I feel like I need to revamp my cards a little and make some masterpieces like Holtz for fear of disappointing you all!

Welcome Matty to an addicting site where you will find tons of infomation, creative inspiration and interesting polls (usually courtesy of MamaK and emilymomto3boys)and conversations which will keep you entertained and laughing. I cannot wait to see your gallery...one day I will have one but that involves me to put down my drink, operate some technical equipment and missing out on some SCS time...way too much work!

I've seen his inks in stores here in Michgian but never worked with any. I'm sure you can Wow some of us here. If it's messy, me, I don't think so. So no Oxy stuff going on here yet, even though it rhymes with my name.

Rubber Obsessor! How fun I think I like that one. In Vancouver there is a condom store and they have all kinds of rubbers. It is like a candy store of safe sex protection. I don't live in Vancouver.. but a 45 minute drive from it. I love the Aquarium a lot. It is peaceful.. then there is the love of my life.. my little baby!

Okay so this might scare you off a little.. but my little baby is a clown fish that I have named Murphy. Clown fish look like Nemo from the movie. Anyhow I have had him for nearly two years.. a book tells me he can live for about 15 if I am lucky. It really is like having a kid. Anyhow I make Murphy Birthday, and Christmas cards! I even buy him gifts.. I know some folks are carzy about there dogs and cats.. but how many are crazy for their fish.

Okay perhaps I should stop drinking home made wine and martinis and get out a little more... hmmm.. I could use some more card stock for my cards

There really are alot of guy stampers out there -but most of them are in the closet! I know 4 male stampers off the top of my head. But only 2 of them would admit it in front of another man! I am looking foward to seeing your cards in the gallery. Welcome

I live not in... Vancouver.. but in the Lowermainland of British Columbia.
It's funny to say this being a guy.. but there are a lot of things that guys don't really admitt in front of each other. Let me tell you a little something of horror from my past experience... when guys are drunk and in the bathroom of the bar.. the actually start to share their sad stories.. and hug and get at times emotional. Most of the time they are already "out" of their pants before the make it to the urinal. It's like dude I can see your wee winkie! Then there is the whole mine is too small, crying spat that happens. Guys are funny they may act like they are all big and studly, but really it is the opposite when they are drunk and in the bathroom.. it turns into the opposite.. of mine is the smalllest and that's why so and so left me.

There is some enlightenment for you from a guy stamper. You want men to come out.. get them some beer... or hard booze!

Okay, here is davidh:
Is a master carpenter, a plumber, an electrician, supervises 3 departments at Kingdom, has twin female poodles and a damn cat, my wife paints and stamps... I have been known do my own projects (ouch), does ceramics (ouch), does the brakes on the cars and trucks, father was a professional house painter and I got all the crappie work, tried teaching myself (I'm toast) knitting, and I love to shoot, go primative hiking/camping, and can't cook to save my live.
That's me,
Dave.

PS - Glitter Queen and the Rubber thing have to go fastfastfast!

I'll have to ask my DH about the 'guy bonding times' I thought that was an old wives tale... he wont believe that I actually read about it on this site...I can't wait!

PS. Matty to change your title a little quicker check the posting 'Fun Word Game'

I am LOL! I think you have the most welcomes of anyone around here! I guess all these gals have needed a guy around.

Welcome and I love that you are a guy stamping! I knit and run into very few male knitters, but those that do tend to have awesome work. Iguess if you are going to be a guy in a traditionally female artform you tend to push yourself a little harder.

Welcome and looking forward to seeing your work!

Hmmm with all of this great response I am starting to feel like a celebrity and that I should start my own stamping show or something. I think it would be a cross between Oprah, a little Debbie Travis and some of So Graham Norton! Not sure if any of you have seen So Graham Norton.. that show is so funny!

Anyhow I hear a lot that the DH.. which I assume stands for dumb husband.. (cause if it were drunk husband.. then you could sneak off to the stamp store and splurge and I couldn't see that being a problem) aren't all that big into the stamping.

In my experience there are a few guys like myself that love to shop. Pier, Bowering, Liberty,.. way to many interior decorating stores in my area.. but I love them all. Just the other day I bought some Tibetan Chimes for outside patio.. okay sorry way off track.

Okay so the point is not to many guys like to shop in my experience or at least admitt it. In most cases they are tight about money.. unless it is on beer, tools, something electronic and for them. Anyhow in this day and age store bought cards are way to expensive.. $5 - $9 here.. they should almost be framed at the amount. Making cards saves money.. and is more personal.

My advice for you gals is to take a different approach with the stamps. Get your DH starting into stamping slowly. Get him to help you stamp wrapping paper ( stamps can be used for more things than just cards ).

A unique idea may be to take the stamps into the bedroom and play with them a little more on the naughty side. Get a kissing lip stamp or something like that, and find some washable ink and stamp each other, in bedroom bliss.
Once your DH stamps a few times.. it should be more comfortable for him.
I myself have not tried the bedroom technique and actually just thought of it now.

Of course being more of a "sensitive" guy I may be just prone to stamping and house cleaning and shopping and watching documentaries..

Good luck with your DH.

If anyone does try the bedroom stamping let me know how it went off.
And hopefully not too fast or soon if you catch my meaning!

Say...when are you going to put up an avatar so we can really see you????

Hello again my fellow star wars stamping friend. I don't have any pictures of just me yet to put up.. working on that. First I need to get over my cold cause my eyes are all red and I feel ugly. Pasty and pale.

Dear Husband... woops I guess I should read the site about the meanings of these things.

Matty you have one lucky little clown fish! Around here we go through fish, but my son always says they jumped out of the tank and went back to the pet store.

Shhhhh don't tell them but sometimes DH very well could mean dumg husband or dam husband.

DavidH you are funny knitting, really?
