Hello! Welcome to SCS. Prismacolor is a brand name of colored pencils that you can use to color your stamped images. Gamsol is a brand name of an odorless turpentine substitute that you can use to help blend your colored pencils. I don't know what the MCP technique is.

I hope this helps. You can also go to the stamping discussion area of the forum and do a search for Gamsol. It will pull up several threads about it and alternatives that you can use if you can't find Gamsol.

Tigger, can you put a link to the card into this thread? Maybe if I see the card I can tell what the MCP technique is.

Hugs and welcome.

Welcome to SCS - glad to have you join us!

I believe "MCP" stands for Magic Color Pencil which is a coloring and blending technique using Gamsol (or any brand of odorless Mineral Spirits), rolled paper stumps and Prismacolor pencils (although some have used other brands with excellent results). If you do a search on any of those terms, you should be able to come up with a better explanation. Hope that helps. Linda

Yes, MCP = Magic Coloured Pencil technique = Gamsol = Coloring with pencil/gamsol/stump = ...well, lots of other terms. I came across this technique just this weekend, so have yet to try it. Here's the link to the technique: Magic Coloured Pencil technique.

*hugs* & welcome! Let me see if I can help you a bit....

Yes, right now you are in a 'thread'. To start a new thread (ie topic) you need to 'step out' of the thread and into the "Forum". (That's where the "collection" of threads is found.) How do you do that? Well, look at the top of this thread and you will see:
Splitcoaststampers > General Discussion (everyone) > Start Here! > New to group with a few questions
  • General Discussion = a Forum
  • Start Here! = a sub-Forum (same as a Forum, really)
  • New to group with a few questions = a thread.

Go to wherever Forum you want to post to.
Click on the button which says "New Thread" and is on the bottom, left-hand corner of the Forum (or Sub-Forum...same thing). This is what it looks like:

To figure out *where* to go and post, have a look here:
WHAT FORUM DO I POST TO???

PS Have a look here, too: What do all those acronyms mean? HELP? (which is in this Forum, by the way). It has useful info like:

CASE = Copy And Share with Everyone
SU! = Stampin' Up!
SCS = Split Coast Stampers
Catty = Catalog

Smile Hello from Florida

Welcome, Tigger! Wow, thanks, Avonlea, for the MCP website. Added it to my faves. Now, I have to save money to buy the prisma colors and gamsol.
