Default I threw away my SU! stamp plastic boxes...

I have been reading this site for the longest time waiting for my dilema to be discussed and I've finally decided to bite the bullet to admit my crime.

I stamped for many years prior to finding out about SU! In that time I arranged my stamps in several ways that worked for me (Rubbermade tubs, etc.). So, after I bought my first few SU! sets, I threw away the boxes and put them all together. Now I see the error in my ways and am wondering if there is a way to purchase empty holders. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Amy

P.S. For all of you demos out there, this is a good thing to tell your stampers (whether experienced or not) to consider before they throw them out...

Your demo can get you any size you want, but.....she has to buy them in some quantity, (I think 6), so you may have to buy that many also. The good news....they're pretty cheap, I don't think more than $1 or $2 each.

Your demo can order extras. Sometimes I just happen to have extras around and I give them to one of my customers. She likes to use them to store her non-stampin up stamps because she like the containers. So I don't have any extras to offer at the time, but there is a good chance you demo might.

Thank you all, I will get in touch with my demo once I figure out all of my sets. I like the idea of purchasing several, I could put my non SU! stamps in them as well. I love SU! and all of you wonderful, helpful ladies. I thank you, my stamps thank you...

Shoot....I just saw these for sale somewhere and they were advertised as just like the ones from SU, but without the logo.....I'm thinking, I'm thinking.......

I just went through all the sites I had bookmarked, no luck.....but I know they're available.....

While you're at it, you might want to have her get you a few extras. I use them for all sorts of things... I even take my coupons to the grocery store in one!

Somebody on SCS posted about a month or two ago about a company called Placon (www.placon.com) that sells packaging. I checked it out (even had a free sample sent to me), and they have the identical plastic containers w/out the SU! logo. Check it out! I've been thinking of ordering a bunch to organize my non-SU stamps in.

I checked out Placon.com and unless I'm doing/looking at something wrong.....I think you can only order a case of something at ta time. It looks pretty pricey. THe blister box I looked at was $87.00 for a case! Yikes!

Just wondering if there is another way through this company that I am missing.

I've definately seen them on ebay. I think when you search under stampin up or rubber stamps they come up - along with lots of other stuff.

Every once in a while somebody who has converted to the acrylic block system posts a bunch of used boxes in the B/S/T forum. I bet if you posted an "ISO" post, you'd get some offers.

Thank you for all of the ideas. I am going to contact my demo for sure and see what she says. I may do a "ISO" too though. Great ideas-

Default SU plastic boxes

Here's a link to a company that has the boxes. I've never ordered from them but had it bookmarked in case I ever needed more. If you can get them from your demo for $1 or $2 each, that looks like it would be the cheapest way to go.

back in the days when I maounted my sets, I would keep them stored in the clear boxes..in fact, I know of a demonstrator who stores them sideways in a boxcase in their boxes, by category...

Now that I don't mount them on wood, I still store them in cases....although I haven't gotten a bookcase, but I do think that's a great idea...you can see what you have and,

if I were a demo, which I'm not, I would need to know what came with what because my customers would be asking....

I wouldn't buy them off of eBay because they are so much more there.

Sometimes there are some for sale in the B/S/T forum because people are switching their stamps to unmounted for easier storage. I bought 10 from someone who was doing this.

Otherwise your demo can order you some when she places a supply order.

I recently discovered another great use for these boxes. I put containers of Twinkling H2O's in them. This allows me to look through the plastic at the bottom of each little container and see the color and the label with the name of the color.

If you have H2O's, you'll understand why this is a great use. I was able to get 26 of the smallest containers in the next to largest size stamp box.

Another advantage of using these stamp boxes for storage is that you can stack one on top of another, saving space, particularly in Iris cart drawers.

I recommend them!

Default SU Boxes

Don't know if you're still interested in boxes, but check out the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. There's someone who's trying to get rid of a lot of her empty boxes...scan the list for "SU Stamp Boxes" (I think).

Here's the response I received as a pm:

"You're not slow, just new. Get to the forums and use the search engine to find every thread that mentions "Twinkling H2O's" and read up on them. You can also search through the galleries by entering the same thing. They're little pots of glittery watercolors, hence the name. Made by Luminarte. Their website is: www.luminarteinc.com "

Thanks Kathy!

Default SU Stamp Cases

Not only do I save mine, I buy extras.

It is much easier for me to store all of my stampsets in the containers since I use bookcases for storage.

I have an adhesive kit (has one of everything) that I keep in the largest size container. I have multiples of these since I do classes and workshops. On the lid I post the item number, description, pg #, and the cost so folks can easily reference that for the adhesives they need. This gets replaced with the new catalog.

I also use them to put together class kits.

I also have a bottomless pit purse so it is easy to keep current card samples that I might want to dig out of my purse at any time to show folks who are interested.

Hope that this helps.

and I just checked out the twinkling H2O, and really want them.....I'll have to order them online though, living in podunk Minnesota!
