Default Hello from San Antonio, Texas!

Hello everyone...I am a newbie to both this site and to stamping. Somehow I stumbled onto this forum and thought it might be a good place to pick up some knowledge and tips about my newest addiction. I have a room full of fabric for quilting, a stock of watercolor paper and paints for painting, and yet, for some crazy reason I decided I needed to start stamping and add even more supplies to my cluttered and crowded craft room. But it's going to be fun, right?!

Thanks, Lydia! Maybe I will do that sometime! My daughter lives in Austin so I go there frequently.

Hello, welcome to Splitcoast! It's a great place for inspiration and if you have any questions as you explore your new hobby just ask, somebody will be able to help for sure!

I hope you (and Lydia) are safe from the worst of the storm. I know craft supplies are precious and we'd hate to see them suffer but other things are even more precious so stay safe!

Thank you, Joanne. I am happy to report I am safe. San Antonio was in the bulls eye for awhile but the storm changed paths and we were spared. Sadly, two of our daughters live in Houston and both have been impacted. One, who has a 3 month old, was evacuated from her apartment today by boat. The other was out of town when the storm hit. She is flying in on Friday to San Antonio and will have to wait it out and see when she can get home. I believe both girls and husbands have probably lost their cars (four total). So very heartbreaking for them and for all who have been touched by Harvey.

I was just watching some of the video. Devastating. I can't imagine what's it's like to know your home is under that much water. And I heard on the radio this morning that a fairly low number have insurance.

Good to hear you're safe Sherry. Devastating as it is to lose cars and have to deal with damage to homes and belongings at least your daughters and your grandbaby are safely away from the flooding, that's the main thing.

Hi back, CHeavens! Thanks for your note! I too am hoping to meet some nice people on this forum. I have already learned so much by browsing different threads. However, by doing that, I am finding my "must have" list of supplies is getting longer and longer!
