Default Hello from The Netherlands

Hi,
I am new at your group.
My name is Caroline and I am from The Nehterlands.
I first noticed your group at another group which I recently joined. I have lots of fun there and I hope to get it here as well.
I am always looking for new techniques and inspiration.
Originally I started scrapbooking, but my neighbour thought me how fun stamping can be, so now I cought the stampingvirus as well.
I have a lot to learn since I am just a newby at stamping, but I like to be creative and put together techniques from scrapping and stamping.
Hope you're going to like my creations.

greetz,
Caroline

Welcome from California, Caroline! Adding stamping to scrapbooking opens up a whole new avenue of creativity. I love this site and the SU catalogs for all the creative examples of scrapbook pages as well as cards. Wish I could spend a month doing nothing but reading everything here - this place is a gold mine! Hope to see your work soon!

welcome!! this site is so great!
my heritage also stems from the Netherlands. My parents immigrated in the 60's. Two of my older sisters were born in Holland. My family is going to be taking a trip there in the summer of 2006 to see where my parents grew up and to visit our family that lives there. I can't wait!
again welcome and enjoy splitcoaststampers!

Groetjes Caroline-

My parents are from Delft, they go back every few years. All my Aunts and Uncles, cousins and second cousins live there! I bought some stamps from Stemplemaker a year ago to have some Dutch sayings and images.

My favorite when visiting Holland - croquette and patate met!

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome!
I didn't know so many of you have roots in Holland.
And for Karen...I live near Delft! Patat en kroket is very nice indeed! But I like patat and sate more. hihihi.
I also have a stamp from the Dutch stampmakers. I have a sunflower, which is one of my favorite all time stamps!
The Dutch stampmakers changed their name into Siriushobby.
You can find them under http://www.siriushobby.com/.
Unfortunately their site is in Dutch, but if you'd like I can help you translate.
If there is someone who wants their stamps feel free to email!
greetz,
Caroline

Hello scrapcaatje

I also am half Dutch (and darn proud of it) I was soooo excited when the new SU catty came out and I saw the Netherlands stamp set. As soon as I opened the catty I phoned my demo and put in an order, didn't even wait for our next stamp camp or demo day. I have made several cards with the set.
I also checked out the site you mentioned and may contact you in the future about ordering some things.

Hi Scrapcaatje,
Welcome to this site!
I'm Dutch, too. I lived in The Netherlands until about 10 years ago. I was born in Goes, but grew up in Eindhoven. I sure do miss the sate! We went back for Christmas last year for the first time in 5 years, and had a lot of fun. My husband had made a list of foods he wanted to eat while we were there, so we had oliebollen, rijsttafel, Hollandse nieuwe, rijstevlaai met slagroom, etc.
I have been doing all sorts of crafts for most of my life, but didn't discover rubber stamping until I moved here. Did it only become popular in The Netherlands recently?

Groetjes,
Yvonne
