Default Clear stamps or rubber stamps, Stampin Up?

HI. I am new to stamping - Looking at doing Stampin UP , just about to start up. What I need to know is what is easier to use the clear stamps or rubber stamps? It seems the clear stamps are in pieces, are they more fiddly? Or is it worth it to see through them? Also with Stampin Up is the quality the same from the rubber to the clear?

Well welcome! Your username is so cute

I own bothe clear and rubber stamps so I say just choose designs you like. They're both great.

Stampin' Up! doesn't sell clear actually. They sell cling mount rubber stamps that you can use with acrylic blocks as you do with clear stamps.

Let me know if I can help you with anything on the site!

Thank you for the lovely welcome. Are the cling mount rubber stamps fiddly to use or would it be better because they are clear and I am just starting out, so easier to use. Is this the way they are going with all of their stamps? I would like to have just one type like rubber or clear mount instead of too many systems.

Hi,

I just undertook a major job and took ALL my rubber stamps off of the wooden blocks so I can use them on the clear blocks. Best thing I ever did..have always felt it better to see position of stamp so love the outcome of this.

Stampin' Up! has told us that they will continue to offer wood-mounted stamps as well. The clear mount (I wish they would call them cling mount to eliminate any confusion!) and wood mount stamps are both the same high-quality red rubber. The cling mount are much easier to store, and many people find them easier to stamp with because they can see through the block.

Personally I'm not the neatest crafter, and I find I don't always put my cling mounts away right away, and they are easier for me to lose them on my stamp table, especially the smaller ones.

Hi Bumble Bee (l love your username!) and welcome from New Zealand. I have all three systems: wood mounted stamps, clear stamps and cling stamps. I find wood mounted stamps good because although you can't see through them, they do have a stamped image on the wood so you have a good idea of how to position your stamps. The clear stamps are good because you can see through them, but I find cling stamps harder to use as they have neither a stamped image as a guide, nor can you see through them. So I go for wood mounted or clear.

Stampin' Up's have a sticker you can put on the back of the rubber to align it where you're stamping.
