doesn't seem there is much interest in a NS swap! That's too bad. PM if interested ladies, I'll set it up.

New to this site but have been enjoying the info on it for some months. Mainly do cards but have started making journals and mini albums with CINCH version 2 / works fantastic with nice round wire due to the improvements.

Nice to talk with other Canadian crafters - have nothing against US crafters and all those great utube videos - but must admit am rather envious of their access to great deals on expensive tools thru Hobby Lobby and Joannes - and we have only Michaels and Wallmart. I live in Edmonton and we have some great scrapbooking stores so guess I shouldn't complain.

I know what you're saying...the deals in the US are great but by the time you pay the shipping you don't save much.

Too right / the other day I saw a bundle on Cricut Craftroom of 2 matts and cutting blades for 16.00 / 35.99 with shipping - so really no point and you would likely owe duty as well depending on where they are actually made.

Wonderful, Sama! I should have noticed that before. We lived in Port Coquitlam for a long time before moving to the Interior, although I did grow up in Penticton!

Whenever I go back home to visit in Windsor Ontario, I look for scrapbooking goodies but can't find many. Does anyone know if London still has any scrapbooking shops? They all died around La Center Washington! Guess I just need to keep doing the on line shopping

Hi everyone! I'm from Burnaby, BC and is also new to stamping. I can't find a single friend here who are interested in this hobby. Glad I found this thread! Hope to learn more and eventually take the plunge to join a swap when there's one within Canada.

Craft supplies are definitely cheaper in the US Good thing I don't live too far from the border. I usually find good deals online too!

Hello, everyone! I live in Rochester, NY and in Brampton, ON, so can I be considered a Canadian stamper?

Yup, craft supplies are cheaper in the US (I'm surprised at how much things cost in Michael's Canada. Luckily, I live 1.5 hours from the border in US and Canada.

I'm excited to meet other stampers in the GTA!

Welcome to this wonderful world of stampin. If you google Stampin up and go to there site, you can find someone in your area who does Stampin up. A lot of the ladies hold stamp nights, and that is a great way to meet new stamping people. I agree shoppping in the states is cheap but since I am a Stampin up Rep I get great deals. Welcome and enjoy. There is a card club called Secret Sisters and you can ask to join and the Medator will give you some directions.

Hi there!
I live in Burnaby also, near Metrotown!
I have been stamping since 1999 and its become an obsession. I don't do scrapbooking but many other Papercrafts. My main interests are Artist Trading Cards(ATC's) and I do a lot of cardmaking and group projects with my ATC groups currently have 3 group projects to work on.
You're right we are lucky to be 30 minutes from the border. I shop at Be Creative in Pitt Meadows(where I also take a monthly class and belong to their ATC group),Country Lane and Clupper Street, all great stores. I go to Bellingham a couple times a montha nd love shopping at Stampadoodle,Joanns and Michaels down there. I agree the prices and selection are much better in the US. I do support my local stores and shop US and online.

Hi Everybody! .... Well, by my online moniker you can probably guess where I came from/where I am.....

I transplanted to our nation's capital 20 years ago from Newfoundland and currently call Kanata, Ontario home.

Despite the size of the city of Ottawa (and it's burbs), we are sadly lacking in local stamping/scrapbooking stores. I do most of my paper-crafting purchasing online - and have been lucky enough to find some very good Canadian online retailers so I'm not dinged TOO much by exhorbitant shipping costs.

I have to admit, there are several stamp companies in the U.S. that I would LOVE to purchase stamps from but their shipping costs are just too high for my liking.

Anyone else out there in the Ottawa region who likes card-making?

Kanatanewf - have you been to Heather's Stamping Haven or Multi-Arts Crafts & Gifts?
Heather's is on Greenbank, and MAC&G is on Thurston Rd.
Although MAC&G's website is not visible to the public, they do have a store that is open to the public and they have stuff from nearly all the major companies. I have to not go there very often 'cause I spend too much money when I do!

Lol. I did not know that. But we have a Joann's, Hobby Lobby, AC Moore, and Michael's here in Rochester. Good for me, bad for my wallet.

@LadyK8, where is that card club that you were mentioning? I think I'll look into joining some of those events that you recommended. Thanks or the tips! It is definitely a wonderful world!

@Crazy4ATC, I go to metrotown about once a week! I love going to winners for discount craft supplies. I make cards more than anything as well. I'll take a look at Country Lane, Pitt Meadows seems kind of far for me. I like Joan's and Hobby Lobby more than Michaels, but Michaels is the only craft store I shop at here other than yard sales. Tell me more about you ATC group! I've never heard of artist trading cards before.

Happy Paddy's day to you too! It's bright and sunny where I am!

Hey Ladyk8, I checked last night and it did give me a list of demos, but when I went to check their "events" it was blank. I'll check again later, maybe something might come up.
