Hi Shannon and Michelle,

No screens on the windows and no problems with birds either as we have three cats. We also have a cat flap in the back doors so they can come and go as they like. We do occasionally get the odd stray cat in the house. LOL My hubby will save the bees if they happen to get in the house. He calls out Bee Rescue and we go chasing after them with this humane bee catcher thing and then release them out side. LOL It can become quite comical at times.
I agree it does seem weird not to have the screens on the windows or doors here. Most houses now have what they call double glazing and are these plastic aluminum double window things. We have opted to keep our wood and glass ones.
The houses here do have what are called net curtains. They are a lacy affair on all the windows and I guess they may act as a deterent to the bugs and things coming in through the window.
I can't say I have ever seen a Gregg's Bakery. Guess I am gonna have to look out for one next time in London. Sainsbury does a pretty good cheese and onion pasty!!!LOL I really have to watch it or I will be putting on way more weight again than I should. Once this cold is over I must get back to the exercise bike again. The food here is really nice and fattening.
Okay, about this thing with the gas prices. Well we pay almost 90 pence a litre here. And that is high!!!! That would be $1.80 a litre there. I think it is roughly 3 litres to a gallon. So I wouldn't complain about $2.25 a gallon. Seems a good deal to me. I am lucky in that my car doesn't take alot of petrol to run. I can fill up my tank and go for almost three weeks back and forth to work on that. Roughly about 20. If I was desperate I could take the bus or walk if I really was short on cash. But I prefer driving. That way I can get home sooner. Sometimes Hubby works as an invigilator for exams and rides in with me. I work for one of the schools here. I am their Reprographics Technician. It is more than just running the photocopier.LOL I print up books and all sorts for the school. So paper is kinda in my blood. I really enjoy working with it and love making cards.
Well I guess I had best get going for now. Need to get to bed so I can get rid of this horrible cold thingy. Take care both of you and anyone else looking in. See ya laters.
Pat

Default Hi Pat.

Sorry it's been so long since I've chitty-chatted with you. It's been a busy summer. Baseball, swimming lessons, and just daily stuff. How have you been? Is the weather cooling off there? It has been cooling down slightly here. About the upper 70' to the lower 80's. I can't complain though. I LOVE cold weather. Rainy and dreary are my favorite days. I just love to put a slicker on with jeans and be able to see my breath. Ahhh fall. Well, I will close here. Type me when the Spirit moves you.
