There's lots you *must* know; no worries tho--you'll learn a great deal of it hangin' around here!

As for getting to know other stampers, I highly recommend a visit to Forums at Splitcoaststampers.

Have fun, remember to feed the kidlings, and don't be shy--people around here love to help newbies!

Hi group
What an awesome group of people here. I can spend days and days on here looking and learning.

My name is Char and I have done many crafts for a long time. One of my favorite things to do is share it with my Girl Guide Units (Sparks, Brownies, and Guides). I can see them making their own items.

I'm not into scrapbooking--getting hooked on cards soon--but my favorite are all the cool things you can make besides cards eg. boxes, choc wrappers, treat baggies and more.

I just signed up to be a SU demo and can hardly wait to get my starter kit.

I (and kids) just made sock monkey cards tonight--that was interesting-hehehe

Su has so many cool items. I am excited to get my goodies. I have now idea where to start--still trying to figure out "stamp a stack" workshops" "classes"-I still need to decipher what is what.

I need to figure out what "Necessary items" I need to do a workshop/stamp a stack/or (whatever I'm supposed to do) before I place my first order.

Any "must haves for first orders" send them my way.

Thanks so much and looking forward to making friends.

Char

Hi everyone, yes I am new today. I have been scrapping for about 5 years. Have decided to make a "change" to making cards. I want to make sets of variety cards for my daughers and daughters in law for Christmas and am looking for starting advice. I am hoping it is a lot like scrapping? I will be asking questions as soon as I go over the forums to see if they are already answered. Patricia

Welcome to all the new people!

Charlotte, I see you signed up for the demo side...great!

Patricia, cards are easier than scrapping (IMO) because they're smaller! That big page tends to intimidate me. Start easy with just a stamped image and a couple of different mats. You can search "CAS" in the gallery (which stands for Clean And Simple) for some ideas.

Keren, discount, discount, discount! I love stamping with other people too, though, so the friends you make when you become a demo are wonderful.

Hi, I'm new to this site and a new su demo. Is this a picture of you? I just want to say thank you for fighting for my freedom! I recently adopted 3 soldiers and I bought the new stamp set in su that are geared toward the military to make a few hundred cards to send to soldiers.
Thanks again!

Gail, which convention? If you're talking about the Stampin' Up convention...that starts August 5.

Hi,
My name is Ana and I love photography and that's what got me into scrapbooking, and scrapbooking led me into Stampin' Up. And soon after that I became a demonstrator. I love being creative, and I love this website, such wonderful creations and techniques. All the wonderful things I've created, because of such wonderful inspirations.
This website rocks!!!!

It's a great idea--there's so much going on, and the products are super. People with any level of skill and pretty much any budget can produce beautiful crafts.

Hi, just me again. Can someone please tell me who the moderators are. It has been a very long time since I have used the SCS boards. Oh and my name is Mary, I live in NH, married to a wonderful man. We have 5 children between us and 7 grandchildren. I was a Stampin'UP! demonstrator for 3 years. Due to health reasons I had to leave for 5 months. I have been back with SU for about 6 months now and thought it was time I joined the SU forum. Thanks for any help any of you can give me in regards to writing to a moderator.

Thanks again.

Hi Everybody! I finally joined! Too long a reader of SCS it was time to sign up. I just had to give up my SU demo due to local restaurant closing where I did my classes. When I attended my first workshop I knew I would be signing on even though I shared a tiny home w/mom. She is now a married stamper & so are my friends, sister and niece. Can't wait till baby niece is old enough to make mommy cards w/me! I will be a demo again.. I love to teach others to stamp. Even children and seniors. Sue - Tori's Ant

Hi Jennie! Welcome to the forum! Just check out which forum you're interested in, whether it's general stamping, tools and techniques, or one of the member companies, and jump in a topic like you did here! Or start your own topic.

No need to have a blog...you can post things to a gallery here if you'd like! If you need help, just post back here and someone can help!

Hello all, well I'm kinda new to SCS, as I have only been around since May. I started cardmaking in February after a co-worker introduced me to the craft. I am now finding time to navigate my way around the website. So much to learn! I am throughly confused about the challenges but I'll get to that another time. Right now I am curious about the use of the word "bump". I've seen it several times in various posts. What does it mean? Thanks.

Hi Everyone - I am a newbie too and there is just so much information on this site it's incredible! I was wondering is there anywhere on here that is specific for new comers who are really just starting out or do I keep reading everything and anything? I am just looking for some simple things to start making.

Thanks!

I am a brand new demonstrator as of 10 pm Saturday NIGHT! I have sent my information and looking forward to being a part of the demonstrators forum. I should be getting my kit one of these days which will make the little kid inside of me VERY happy! I am looking forward to all the ideas that will come my way from all of the experienced demonstrators AND all the new ladies and gentlemen. Hopefully I will be able to be an encouragement as well. Happy stamping all!

PS: By the way it took me 13 years to become a demonstrator. Yep that's how long I've been stamping and using SU products. I'm a slow mover except when it comes to chocolate!

Welcome to the new members, and welcome to the Stampin' Up! family, Shari!

Jodi, whenever anyone posts to a thread, it automatically brings it to the top of the list. So if someone is posting just for that specific reason, they will usually type "bump" to bump it up (or sometimes "BTT" for bump to top or "TTT" take to top)

Talking Hello to everyone on SCS :)

My name is Beverly - and I am Canadian, and I've finally decided to hop on board! I have seen the SCS name just about everywhere and kept thinking about it, signed on awhile ago but then I joined Stampin' Up! last fall and became so busy with that at first.

Now I can relax more and take part here - so excited to see what I can do first...what swaps to join, watch the new posts, learn techniques (oh yeah!) ....just everything!!!! Whooo-hoooo!

And my fav. season is coming up in the not-too-distant future - what's not to love!

Cheers - hope to chat with more of you soon! AND WELCOME TO ALL NEW MEMBERS!

Hello Karen, I don't know how but your post ended up in my email. I will answer your question as best I can considering I am pretty much in the same place as yourself. I got started cardmaking in Feb. and FELL HARD! I found alot of useful info on YouTube when I entered "stampin up tutorials". I went from there. There are so many people, techniques, other sites... my gosh, SO MUCH stuff out there to get you going. I have also learned many things visiting some of the other stamper's blog. Some of these ladies have video tutorials which helped me immensely. You have entered the world of very kind and helpful people. Good luck on your journey. You will find it to be a joyful one. Jodi

Jodi, normally when you post to a thread, you become "subscribed" to it, and any subsequent posts will be sent to your e-mail. You can choose not to subscribe, or you can subscribe to a topic without even posting by clicking on "thread tools" and then "subscribe to thread"

Hi there! I am a new SU! Demo and new to SCS. I have been scrapbooking and cardmaking for 5 years or so. I was thinking about joining the demo forum but I see other posts about a fee. Do you have to pay to be part of the demo forums? If so, how much is it per month? Thank you for your help!

Inspired by Nature is in the 2009-2010 idea book & catalog. It is located on 96 item # 111656. I just got it and I love this set.

Thank you so much,Jeanette, I was under the impression that this set was retired. I have tried contacting the person I have ordered from in the past, if I do not hear from her I will visit your site.
Thanks again.
