Yes get all the practice you can, it makes it so much easier then when they are folks you don't know. But that won't last long because they will just love what you have to share, and before you know it you've made a new friend. I love my job...keep up the good Work!

Default I'm new and want to learn all of it :-)

Hello!

My name is Daniela.

Two years ago, while making a few cards for friends for Christmas, I dreamed how wonderful would be to make this all the time!

This year in August I started slowly slowly to buy some paper, ribbon, brads and started making cards. It's truly addicting and it takes time and patience. I don't know how you all here work, have a family AND make this amazing cards! Props!

Kristen,
I'm a new su demo too and just had my first workshop recently. I took some coffee filters and stamped them with the choc. chip ink, using the "snow swirled" snowflakes. The filters are so thin that the ink shows through on both sides. I wrapped a choc. chip cookie in the filter and put a 1" dp band around it. They were so cute and harldy any work at all.
At the workshop, we made 3 cards, a magnetic bookmark. The gals really had a good time. Another really cute idea is a birhouse I saw in Nicholes blog on Papertreyink.com. These would be fun to make for a workshop and if you use 12X12 cardstock, you get 5 on a page. Good luck! Jan

Hi, I am new to SCS, but have my own blog and all that fun stuff. and am a nerd on Facebook as well. Hoping to meet some people and get some new ideas.

Given the level of my addiction, I probably should be a demonstrator of some form though!!

Hi Butlerlfy!

Welcome.

It's fun to be a demo or consultant you get to have fun doing what you would normally do like go to crops and share your knowledge with people. Plus, you can make money selling products that you love.

Smile Yep! I'm new from NC

I've been a SU demonstrator since March 08 but stamping with SU since 05'ish. I have seen a lot about SCS on the SU site and finally decided to get off my duff and check it out. I'm having a little trouble with it - probably because I have 000 patience at times, and today is one of those times.

Anyway, I live in Reidsville, NC which is in the piedmont area of the state and only 20 mins or so from Danville and Martinsville, VA and Burlington and Greensboro, NC. All of my children are grown and for now out of the house. I have 2 grandsons and a 3rd grandchild on the way - I'm soooo excited about that.

I'm looking forward to joining some of the swaps and just plain looking at the site - when I have more time and patience.

Happy New Year to you all

Default Newbie

Yes I am new to SCS and I am really enjoying this group. I have been using it to get answers to some of my questions and to get inspired. I just created my own blog this week because I enjoy going to others to see what they have created. I wanted to be able to share what I have created instead of just putting them into a box. I do send my cards out but I can't possibly send that many. Anyway I have posted my site. I am looking for any suggestions on owning a blog. The name of my blog is Dragonfly Dreams-created from paper and ink.

welcome all.
any new SU demos remember to sign up for the demo side of SCS. very helpful. you will find all info on the home page. left hand side i believe.
each of you should check out the get it together section. there you will find different threads -perhaps one in your neck of the woods. just jump right in and chat. everyone one is more than friendly.

Both are good companies with cute stamps and great embellishments. I used to be a consultant with CTMH and although I LOVE my acrylic stamps, I was so drawn to Stampin Up's artwork and also their Big Shot and dies that are available for it. There are so many dies for boxes, etc. and I love that alot of the stamps are made to be used with punches that are basically the same shape-(scallops circles, ovals, etc). If you want more information about SU, you can PM me and I would be glad to try to answer your questions.
Happy Stamping!

Both of those companies have great artwork. It's really a personal choice. Although I have heard that TAC's quota is lower then SU!s.

Personally, I couldn't join them because my mil owns 1 of the 2 local scrapbook stores in my area. And she already doesn't like that I joined CM. Even though CM only does paper, albums, digital, and like the other little stuff to go with albums.

So I just buy SU! and CTMH from my friends. I don't have anyone that I get TAC from although I've seen the catalog and would love to have a Consultant.

SU, of course! Seriously, whichever company you like the products the most would be better. If you love the products it shows, and you will sell more. Unless you're going to buy mostly for yourself you wouldn't need to worry about that part.

I don't know what TAC is, but as a lot of people have said, the paper from CTMH is awesome because it has the white core and you can sand it away, but Stampin UP! has so many different colors of ink and from what I've experienced SU ink is a little better. I just became an SU consultant in October and I'm not driving my business the way I should be, but I think that it is a great company.

Default A new, old demonstrator.

Hello all,

I am getting ready to sign up with SU again. I had been a demonstrator before, and let it go due to personal reasons. I am going to sign up again in February and looking forward to it. My kids are 14 and 12. While not little, they are not grown. They both love to stamp with me and make cards and scrapbook pages. I have had it in mind to do a scrapbook for each of them, but I believe it would be more fun if I helped them make their own. What do you think?

That sounds like a good idea. And it's better than what I'm doing.

My mom let me have my baby pics and I'm putting MY baby album together.

So if I ever have a kid I'll at least have had the experience before plus my boy dog has an album too. We've had him since he was a pup and almost every pic he's been in is in there.

Smile Howdy

I am here to support my wife in her hobby. I am her assistant for many projects.
That or I am just a pain as the name implies.

Thanks to all who had replied to me. I have decided to sign up with SU, since they now have the Big Shot and I love their stamps and colors.

Its so funny how we each have our own tastes. A friend of mine was over yesterday and she complained how she does not like any paper with a white core and may start using more SU paper, since it is solid color throughout and can now be purchased online.

Its a good thing that there are so many companies so there is something for everyone. You just need to figure out which one has what is right for you.

Me, I love the coordination of colors. So the ink, paper, ribbon, everything matches and I don't need to figure it out on my own.

I am kinda color impaired... or it could just be there isn't a decent light anywhere in my house to tell what matches!
