This board is a great tool! It's extremely helpful in all aspects of rubber stamping and scrapbooking!

Good Morning to all..... I'm not sure how to really use this site yet, but I have now been asked a couple of times if I'm a SU demonstrator. No, just a junkie!!!
I have been stamping since the late 90's. I did go a few years without ever touching a stamp though. I stamp in my spare time(not enough) I'm a single mom with an 11 y.o. Since I only have about 2 yrs left of her liking me....I try to spend as much time with her a I can. Also, I'm going to try and load some pics of my "Retro Bella's" today. Wish me luck!!!!

Hi I'm Jan, new to SCS. Been stamping for years, love all these fresh ideas! Thanks for sharing. Need some advice tho. We are moving out of state - leaving behind all my friends and family (4 kids are grown). I was thinking of becoming a SU demonstrator to keep me busy and make new friends, but have no idea how/where to start. Does anyone have suggestions on how to establish myself as the neighborhood SU demo. and invite people to workshops? Thanks!

Smile Welcome to Splitcoast

Hi Jan

Wonderful that you are thinking of becoming a SU demo. First thing i might do is look on the demo locator on SU site located where you are moving to. stampinup.com Then maybe leave a message for more than one demo and see who replies and fits you best and will be a supportive upline. Hope this helps. i am sure anyone would love to help you out. Have fun! Stamp on!

Hi~thanks for the suggestion. I like the gal I work w/now, she said she could still be my upline even from another state - but I should check out to see who is in my new zip. I was thinking of using the community center in the neighborhood for workshops, as long as it didn't cost and arm and a leg, or advertising in the newsletter...heck, I'd even stoop to flyers in the railings of porches! We are going up [from MD to PA] this weekend to visit the new house, I should prolly check the neighborhood covenants and make sure I won't be arrested for trespassing or something!! Have a great day!

Question New to this site...

Hi! I am new to this site...a friend of mine who is a SU Demo loves it so I thought I'd check it out for the times when I can't bug her about all of my questions on techniques/product. I also have some questions about how others organize all of their SU & Scrapbooking stuff? I have both because I used to be a CM demo and got into stampin "just for fun"...now I just love both and never have enough time for either. Any ideas for the 2 hobbies to coexist and any storage suggestions???

Have a great night...

My name is Becky and I'm also new to SCS. I'm thinking about becoming a Demonstrator and I'm comparing, SU, CTMH, and TAC. I live in Atlanta so I think there are a lot of SU and CTMH demonstrators around here. I also, don't have a wide contact base of friends from which to draw customers. Which forum would I go to, to learn more about which direction I should go?

Default Not a demonstrator...

Hi Dee,

I just do it for fun!!! Is site "is" great, but sometimes I'm lost and I know I don't do all the replies that I should. I'm still learning my way around. I have been cruising the galleries and getting ideas for over a year now though.

Smile Hi I'm Nerine

Hi there, I'm Nerine. I've been a SU independant demonstrator since May this year(2007) and am thanking my lucky stars a friend told me about this site. I love being a SU demo and am looking forward to all the good times ahead. I decided to become a demo when my weekly wish list of SU products exceeded my weekly wage and I ended up having to sticky tape the pages of my catalogue back in, cause I'd read it so much I had pretty much the whole catalogue memorised...lol!

I've got my 3rd workshop coming up this weekend so I'll be surfing the pages here looking for some great idea's. Thank you to everyone who posts such wonderful handmade projects, you keep me inspired.

Default I'm New!

I'm new to SCS. I signed up to be a demonstrator back in February of this year. I haven't done any 'demoing' though. For a while I just felt so overwhelmed and not ready to try 'showing' others. However, all my friends know about what I'm getting into and I've been showing off the cards that I have made (haven't been too many yet). I find that it takes me a long time to get something together. But, I'm improving and I'm betting this site will certainly help with ideas and inspiration.

Thanks!

For those of you who recently signed up as a demo, how long did it take to get your goodies and be classified as a demo? I have heard up to two weeks. Not sure I can wait that long as I place orders from my current demo too often.
Thanks,
Sally

I started stamping in 1967. I took over a classroom from a teacher who just retired and she left all her rubber stamps in the desk for me.

I've been stamping ever since. I have thousands of stamps.

I have never seen such talent until I joined this group.

Welcome!

I just sent in my Demo papers last week to Stampin Up. I'm excited and nervous. Does anyone have any great ideas for new starters? I'm thinking about doing a "Stamp Camp" of party favors as one of my first classes. Anyone have any other great ideas about how to get started? Things that worked or didn't work so well? I would be so appreciative to reap the knowledge from people who know!

Hi Everyone,

I just signed up to be an SU demonstrator and can't wait to get started. I'm a stay-at-home mom of two boys, Aiden is 4 and Noah is 1 1/2. I love to stamp, work with paper, cook (my husband's favorite) and sew. I'm looking forward to being a part of SCS! Stamp on!

Oh yes, any advice to new SU demos would be appreciated!

Question New To The Site and In Need Of Some Help

Hi Everyone,

My name is Erin and I am new to this site. I am a regular over at ScrapJazz and was referred over here by one of my SJ Sisters. She told me that you over here are the know all-be all's of stamping.

My delimema is this. I really would like to find some specific stamps (preferably wood mounted) that are all US Army related. I know I can probably find 2 of them if I dig hard enough, but 1 I think is a longshot. Here's what I am praying to find.

Ranger Tab
Airborne Tab
Ranger Creed (aka the longshot)

Please, if anyone knows where I can get these, or even get these made could you please send me an email with the information?

I'm really diving head on to the rubber stamping so I hope to come back here for some great tips and advice!

All the very best,

Erin

Hi Joey,

One of my friends from MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) did a demo for one of our meetings and it struck my interest so I attended one of her workshops. Before you know, I was hooked.

Have you stamped before?

Hi Erin,

I, too, was looking for some specialty religious stamps. I did a Google search and was shocked at the number of them that I found. Good luck in your search.

I am also fairly new to SCS. I have been an avid collector of SU stamps and stuff for about a year and a half. I am ashamed to say that I just really started using them regularly in June-ish of this year.

I have already tried some cool techniques I found on this site, and today I uploaded my first card!!! I am thinking of becoming a demonstrator, as soon as I figure out the best way to market myself. All the workshops we have are attended by the same 3-4 gals with no newbies. Once I figure out how to expand to more people, I will give it a go!!

Thanks, everyone, for all the great info and help on this site!!.

I've been going to a class once per month. That has really gotten me interested. I show my friends each month what I make at the classes and they all want me to teach them. Seemed like a no brainer that I should join so I can get my stuff cheaper and get paid to teach them all what I've learned.

Have you stamped before?

Default Absolutely Love SU!

Hi all,
I'm new to SCS, but not to SU! I love this site. My SU! Demostrator referred me here and I'm hooked! I cannot get over the talent and sheer energy everyone expresses here. This site is the alternative to Prozac! If you ever need a "pick-me-up" this site is it. I wish my entire day could be surrounded by the creativity and positive energy I find here online.

I can not believe how much time I have spent in front of this computer, running to Mikes, emailing my demonstrator, and more time in front of the computer "playing" with this site. I think my brain is going to explode from information overload. Somehow, I have managed to find the time to sleep and eat. Oh, and I have 2 kids running around here somewhere, lol!!

I have tried 3 new projects that I found since Friday night, and joined a card swap. Of course, I needed SU! stamps for the swap, so I just HAD to order those today, lol!!!
