What to use for vellum

How do I get vellum to stick to SU cardstock. Having some trouble with the easy stick tape. Is there a better way?

I use eyelets or brads. Or I tie a ribbon around the area I am going to glue. You can also use spray adhesive and I have heard others say they lovet heir xyron! HTH

I usually use eyelets to attach a piece of vellum to the cardstock. Or fasterners. I have also tied it to the cardstock with ribbon. You can also tape the vellum to the cardstock with mono in places where you will be layering pieces of cardstock over the vellum.
I have tried the vellum tape (they sell at Michael's) but didn't like it. I used it to layer vellum on dark cardstock, and the tape really showed, so I returned it. I hear it works well when you use lighter cardstock, though, but haven't tried that myself.
Hope this helps.

Scotch makes a special vellum2 sided tape that works great and is invisble!

I think I got mine at Michael's

Thanks for your help. I will try these methods. I hadn't thought about eyelets or ribbon. Thanks again!

I am the guest. You can probably tell I don't post very often. I am going to try the eyelets and ribbons. Didn't think about either of these methods. I also was not aware of the vellum tape. Thanks for all of your tips. 8) 8)

Hello,
I use vellum alot. I love it! I have posted several cards with unique ways of putting vellum on things that disguise how you stick it on. Look my gallery...I'm not sure of the address. Just search for MoreStamps! . I posted one that:
is rolled like a scroll on strips that are glued and tied,
one that I tuck the vellum under a piece of paper that is then stuck down, I tie it on with ribbon,
I fold paper over it or frame it to hide the tape,
I cut a hole in the vellum and stick paper over the area with the whole,
I put it under things and fold it up around them,
...I will post more vellum cards.
I found it -Here is my gallery:

Hi again,
Just checked my link it seems to work.
I counted and I've got six different ways to put vellum on a card (or page) in my gallery.
I also usually tell how to do them if it doesn't seem self explanitory to my... but if you need any more specific details on how to do anything I show just PM me! I"ll be glad to help!

Hi

I've used spray adhesive and it works fine. You don't see any glue dots through it. - a little expensive though. I also use brads and eyelets as well.

I had an accidental discovery last week when making a card. I first used the 2-way glue pen to adhere the vellum, but when I put the vellum on the cardstock, the glue showed through very badly. I quickly pulled the vellum up hoping I could salvage the card.

As I was sitting there thinking about what to do, I remember the many ways to use 2-way glue. One of them is to put glue on both surfaces you want to adhere to each other and allow it to dry, then put them together. Then I thought.....hey....I just did that. I put the vellum back on because by that time the glue was dry. I think it turned out great:

You can see the glue on the top piece a little because I was impatient while waiting for it to dry.

So, that's my new invention...glue kissing. Put 2-way glue on your vellum in light squiggles around the edges. Put the vellum down where you want to glue it and pick it immediately back up. That way you "kiss" the glue exactly where you want it to be. Wait for the glue to dry and put it back!

Not a genius idea, remember, this was the result of a screw-up!! Woo hoo!
