When did everyone become so lazy that you can not type complete sentences anymore and have to resort to Acronyms

In some formats you are limited to the number of words or characters used so these acronyms allow longer posts. It does get confusing when people used little know acronyms or those with multiple meanings. But I still love using lol and everyone seems to know that one.

When tweeting became popular! :-P
Just kidding, we shorten names of places we shop at, done it for years, I think everyone does it to some extent.

I'm sure texting came before tweeting and that was the begining of many of the acronyms.

I found
THIS connection when I did a google search. In her case it stands for A Day For Daisies. They are a digi company. So it would be
A Day For Daisies card or A Day for Daisies Image
HTH = Hope that helps. :-)

You can find other lists online by googling for abreviations used in chat or just try putting the abbreviation into a search box. It always surprises me to see how many different things are using the same set of letters to mean something. You then may have to consider the context it is used in to figure what it means.

Degree symbol...
Can anyone help me with a keyboard shortcut if you are using a Mac? I apologize for asking for something other than an acronym but, while scrolling through the forum, I found other requests for the degree symbol. I can't get them to work so I think they are for a PC (non-Mac). Thanks in advance for any help anyone may be able to provide!!!

I went to search for pnz and found little that was meaningful for crafters.
Ruby, do a google how to search. Try typing ---- find degree symbol for Mac
This may offer a solution. I use these searches all the time to find things I don't know how to do.

LOL and ROFL covers most situations nicely. Only teens could create such long ones. At my age, who can remember all of that.

It also might mean the person meant to use LOL and just was sloppy. It has happened to me. Context can be everything.

Acronym for Son in law
I used the acronym SIL for Son-in-law and was asked what the acronym was for Sister-in-law? I was wondering too. Any help with this?
Thanks.

I'm afraid it is exactly the same. I guess context is everything.

I have long used SIL for son-in-law as well as for sister-in-law.
Happily, I've had no complaints from my one SIL.
It's easy when you know that I have one DD. ;)
