Perhaps you need to set your messaging options.
Try these steps:
  • Click on "Welcome" at the top of this page.
  • In left column, Click on "Options".
  • Under "Messaging & Notification", locate "Default Thread Subscription Mode. Select "Instant Email Notification".
  • At page bottom, "Save Changes".
Hopefully this will help.

im new to this site...i already posted a thread introducing myself. i cant seem to find a "how to" section if there is such a thing on this site. don't get me wrong, i dont want to copy anyones work or steal ideas. i just have very limited supplies and have to do everything by hand right now. can you tell me where i can look to find how you make different things? for instance the lady at our local scrapbook store said she gets a lot of ideas for her classes off this site and showed me how to make the christmas tree but going an inch smaller for each layer...help!! im lost!!

Thank you!!

Hello, Rebecca.

This is a huge site and it takes a while to learn your way around it. The how-to tutorials are in the Resources section. You can find them by going to the top line of any SCS page and clicking on the word "resources." That will load the main page with thumbnails of all the projects.

All these acronyms. Very confusing CASE Copy and share everything. Actually I heard it first as copy and steal everything but the share one is more encouraging.

Have fun.

Question

Hi! I am new to this site. I want to make the acrylic boxes (I have all of the items needed and I am ready) the problem is that I cannot figure out the measurements on Susie's tutorial. I see the total measurements for the acrylic but the cardstock top and bottom seem to be missing a measurement. Am I just missing it? Can anybody help me, please? Thanks and I love looking at all of the cards. You are a very talented group!

I have never used a message forum either, and see that I have a lot to learn on this subject. From what I've seen on this site, I love it already! There are a lot of talented people out there (thanks for sharing your ideas) and I like reading all of the encouraging comments from fellow stampers. I don't know anybody that doesn't appreciate positive comments on their work!

The RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) group is a gathering of SCS'ers who enjoy sending out a handmade greeting card to others from the RAK list. Originally, it was truly a matter of randomly selecting someone to whom you wished to send a card. Now, there are some organized mini-groups within for those who want even more involvement. If you like to make & send, this could be the group for you!

'Stamp Out Fat' includes stampers who love to encourage each other in their weight loss journeys, via cards, communication, etc! Give it a try if you would like!

You have no obligation to remain a member of any group that isn't a good fit for you. Removing oneself from a group is as easy as clicking a button.

Camandtysmom....

RAK - Random Act of Kindness....has 4 sub-forums within RAK.....you can participate in one sub-forum or all four if you'd like. Your choice!!

1. Weekly RAK Challenges.....these are FUN!! Its a means to send two RAK cards each week. The challenge ((they change each Sunday)) could be ((an example)) take your birthdate....month and day....((for me is 11/9))....and find two people who have those same numbers....it could be month ((Nov or Sept))....and pick two people....send them a RAK card. Or, you could take and switch the numbers around and see if there happens to be two people who had 9 (Sept) 11th (day) as birthdays and send them a RAK card....or, you could pick any month you wanted and found someone with the 9th as a birthday and 11th as a birthday. They are very flexible and these change each week and they help you pick two members to randomly pick and send a RAK card to. Participation is your choice....each week, bi-monthly, once a month...whenever you have time.

2. Welcoming Committee.....this group does require a commitment from you. As the RAK membership is updated, a mod would send you a list of New Members to send a Welcome Card to.....its usually only one or two cards, twice a month. Again, this is a way to bring a smile to someone's face and welcome them to RAK!!

3. Birthday Committee.....again, this group does require a commitment from you. I believe in this group, the monthly assignments are 5 to 6 RAK Birthday cards per month. Again, the mod would send you your assignment of who to send to for the upcoming month.

((For #2 and #3 Committee's.....you can be involved for as long as you'd like. If for some reason, you need a break or can no longer fulfill your assignments, just let the mod know))

4. Wish-RAK....this sub-forum was originally started as a means to share stamped SU images on quarter sheets amongst the membership. But, since its conception, other stamp manufacturer's have been added to the list for requesting stamped images. Embellishments have also been added as a Wish.

In this group, to make it *fair* for everyone involved, its a three part equation, per say.....
1.....you start out with 3 free wishes or requests.

2.....to earn more wishes or requests....you *grant* a member her wish. Bascially, you are sending a member what she has wished for or requested.

3.....the member you sent a wish to MUST post a Thank You for the images or wish you sent. Once that TY is posted.....you earned another wish or request.
We maintain a Master List of all the wishes that are requested, so it makes it very easy for you to grant ((or send)) wishes to another member. We also keep track of how many wishes you have granted, how many bonus wishes you've earned and how many wishes you've used ((or requested)). All the hard work is done for you.....so, all you have to do is stamp away and bring a smile to someone's face.

HOPE some of this helps, and if you have any questions.....please feel free to send me a private message and I'd be happy to answer them.

Thanks!!

Hello all. This is my first post on this site. I have only just joined up, hoping to find fellow crafters to share ideas with. I will probably just browse for a while to get the hang of it all, but hopefully will get very involved as time goes on.
Wish me luck.

Hi Everyone! I just joined SCS tonight and am fairly new to the stamping world. I began stamping a little over a year ago and have fallen in love with it. To date, I have just been posting my cards on my blog but wanted to find somewhere to share ideas and learn from those who are much more experienced than I. I hope that in time, I can help others as well. I am excited to be joining such a wonderful community.

Hi, I'm Angela from Connecticut and would like to ask you a question. I've uploaded my cards into my gallery and realized I neglected to put the name of the person that I got the idea from on the photo. I thought if I edited the photo it would work, but it didn't. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Angela,

It can take a little while before our edits to gallery uploads appear. Like most of us, I like to see my changes "right now". However, it usually takes a while for it to show up. I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier. If the edits you were attempting still have not appeared, please send me a PM. I'm sorry you were having trouble.

Thank you for the info. I went into my gallery and checked and they are there. I thought it would change right away - too impatient I guess. Thanks again and have a great day. Angela
