QUICK..."something BIG" for Mom's 80th Birthday!!!

Greetings!!!

My Mom will be 80 next week and I need something where 8 people can sign & leave a comment & best wishes, etc. for her!!! Remember I have "limited time & creativity". Any ideas would be most appreciated :) Thanks, ~Elizabeth

There's a company on Etsy that sells a 'fingerprint tree.' Look them up. It's called YourKeepsakeCo. I think it's a neat idea and you could totally do something similar for a birthday. Maybe have people leave their fingerprints as bunches of balloons or something.

I made individual 6x6 pages decorated simply with washi tapes, brads, stamps. Each guest signs any time during the dinner and I collect at the end before the cake cutting, slipped them into empty page protectors pre-bound into a decorated album. We had nearly 40 guests but they didn't have to wait for their turn to sign in one card/guest book.

Washi tapes are just about the latest craze among my friends and scrappers in Singpore (and Japan and Taiwan). They are decorative masking tapes - colourful and easily torn off the roll by hand. Just like painters/masking tape.
I believe Basic Grey, Heidi Swapp and WRMK has some designs. The whole idea is there is no need to match or measure. I just picked 3 or 4 designs and randomly stuck them on the sides of each 6x6 page - horizontally, vertically, bottom, top, etc.

If you don't have washi tapes, you could use ribbons or skinny paper strips.

The cover is book board 6.5x6.5 covered and punched with crop-a-dile for 2 split rings to hold the page protectors. I traced from the page protector to get where to punch.
I tied lots of ribbons on the rings to cover the metal

Greetings!!!

Well, if I ever understand how this thing works, I'll be happy :)

So, thanks for answering me.

I checked out the Washi tapes and they're very pretty & creative.

My brother actually lives in Japan. His wife is from Thailand and they have two sons (one son we've never met quite yet) and they all live in Japan.

Thanks,
~Lee

The Tim Holtz collection has some steampunkish looking tapes...I believe they call them tissue paper tapes, 2 patterns to each package. Loved using them on a recent collage.
