Smile Covered notebooks

Hi - I am new to this part - have become ADDICTED to checking out all the cool ideas everyone has. My question is about covered notebooks. What can I use to put over the paper cover so it is protected? I've read modge podge, tape etc. I bought MANY little 3x5 spiral notebooks to cover, and I want to protect the cover if possible. Thanks!!!!!!!:

I have the very wide roll of scotch tape and I use that.

How do you apply the modge podge - with a brush? Do you do both sides?

Thanks

I use a foam brush. Just the cheap ones from the craft store. I only apply to one side, but if you want that extra protection, you can add it to both.

Either mod podge or small layers of acrylic sealer

I have used clear contact paper.. I guess it depends on how long you want to keep it perfect for... acrylic spray is also good you can have matte or gloss.

myself, I do not like the look of midgepodge...
so I would try another sealer... or nothing... but that is from a "simple " person
