Question Newbie question about linking threads in replies...

Hi! I am hoping someone can explain to me how I put a link to another thread/post into a reply in a completely different post. Does that even make sense? TIA!

Hi Lianne!

Yes - you can do that. Look at your post here - up in the upper right, you'll see a little #1 - you can right click on that and choose "copy link location" (or something similar depending on your browser) and then go to your new post and right click and paste the link. That will be a link directly to a single post, which can be very helpful and save time

If you want to post a link to the whole thread, just navigate to the thread you want, go up to the address bar in your browser, and copy the whole link. Then paste it into the new thread.

Well a short answer is "you shouldn't cross post" but if you were trying to share a link to a shopping site or recipe or something that wasn't bringing one topic/discussion/argument into another basically you just copy and paste.

If you wanted to quote a post to answer or elaborate on it within a thread click the "quote" button in that post and type away

Thanks so much, Lydia! I wanted to post a reply to someone's question and direct them to the post where I had found an answer, but had no idea how to do it. Thanks! :-D
