Default Introducing Karen from AUSTRALIA!!

Hi everyone,

I just thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. I have been a member of this site for only a couple of days and already I have been inspired more than I have ever been before!
My name is Karen, I am from Australia and I am a SAHM of 2 children. I have been stamping for about 6 years - and find its great "therapy"!
My favourite stamps are stampin up of which I have about 8 or so sets of now. Although the stamps arent available here in Oz I have a wonderful friend in Utah who is a demonstrator and orders me what i need - and believe me I NEED MORE! lol I would dearly love to get some cardstock and papers but will do that when the Aussie $ is trading a bit higher.

I love to experiment with different types of cards that twist and turn or pop up - just anything that will make the receiver go "WOW"!!

Well thats me in a nutshell I guess - I look forward to learning more and being inspired each and every time I look at this board!

Thanks for having me aboard!

Love Karen

Hi, Karen!!

Where are you located in Australia? I have a very good friend in Ballarat, although he is originally from Melbourne. I hope to visit there one of these days... or that he will come here. We became friends in an internet trivia game about 5 years ago and really bonded.

Do you have sources of good cardstock in your area? The reason I mention it is that paper is so very heavy and the cost for mailing it is high. So if you can get good quality paper, I would say do that and use your money to buy stamps from SU.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of your stuff in the gallery soon!

Cheers!

Default Thanks for such a warm welcome!

I am just overwhelmed with what a lovely welcome I have received to the group. I have just joined the RAK list and am just waiting approval from the moderator so I cant wait to start sending out some happy mail to you all! Does it matter that I dont have any SU cardstock when I send RAK's and do I have to primarily use SU stamps or can I use others as well! This is so darn exciting! I have been looking for a group like this for AGES!!!!

Hi Sencie,

I am bracing myself for the fact that I am going to WANT more stamps! lol
My most favourite set which I keep getting outbid on ebay is ITS A GIRL THING!!! I love it and its one set I just HAVE TO HAVE!! I just love how all the SU inkpads, cardstock and ribbons match perfectly - I am pedantic about things matching to the point of driving myself mad! Thanks for your welcome!

Love Karen

Karen,
I don't think anyone cares if a RAK is made with SU cardstock. You can send me a RAK anytime!
I can't wait to send out some RAKs. I just joined the RAK group a couple of days ago, and I guess they only add names/address to the list once a month. But even though my name's not on the list I can start sending our RAKs anytime. I just need to get a couple of card exchanges done first.

Welcome!
Guess I will have to join RAK too. My sister has been to OZ 5 times, NZ 4 (I've only managed NZ 1X), so she will want to swap away with me. In fact one of our fav stamping magazines comes from "down under." Last convention at least half my launch points came via those magazines!
Where are you, as my sister's friend lives in Coolangata.
If I know Australian's a little, I know stamping is not your only vice. We love your fine wool, and, as a matter of fact am wearing Holeproof Heroes right now!

Welcome Karen (from another Karen in the States)!!

As others have said - you will definitely accumulate more stamps just by being part of this group. I, for one, have bought numerous stamps in the past month that weren't even on my wish list - I just had to have them after seeing the samples on here!!

I too am a SAHM to 2 (DD - Madison 4 yrs & DD - Mackenzie 7 weeks).

Again - welcome to this great group!!!

So glad you have joined the group. Looking forward to chatting with you and having you share some ideas. Are there any favorite techniques you have that we may not do or may not have heard of . RAK's are acts of kindness so noone should object to kindness no matter what product is used. Enjoy this site, be prepared to spend plenty of time here there is always something going on

Welcome aboard Karen. It's good to meet you. You will definitely love this place. It is my home away from home. I have met so many super nice ladies here and not to mention the inspiration I get from the gallery.

You just use whatever card stock you want to you. I am sure that anyone you sent a card to would be thrilled no matter what you used.
