I just saw a post about this website, and cannot believe I have never heard of it before. It is amazing...I am so glad that I found my way here.
I am Jen, 34, from NYC. I work in NJ, and since I was four, I have been collecting Garfield.
Been buying way too many stamps, and not using them. After seeing the gallery here, I am excited to finally use them. So many great ideas....I can't wait to get started.
Recently bought a lot of SU!, and I am anxiously awaiting a catty from CTMH. I'm looking forward to meetings new friends here, and sharing this wonderful "addiction" with all of you...LOL
Hi Neighbor! FINALLY a fellow New Yorker stamper! You know I think it is just a small group of us here!!
I'm on Long Island- If ya ever wanna get on the LIRR and come by for a stamp camp or class- let me know!! Hey sign up for the SCS RAK group too- Its a lot of fun!
I'm in the city all the time if you ever wanna meet up! Juts saw De La Guarda last night  - had to go since it is over next month.,...OH MY SOOO MUCH FUN!!! what a wild event!
I'm looking forward to meetings new friends here, and sharing this wonderful "addiction" with all of you...LOL
Jen - Welcome to SCS. You are going to love it here. And if you are looking for ideas and inspiration you have most definately come home. I gather so much info from here every day (sometimes several times a day). Some stamp related and some not.
Welcome Jen! We are so glad to have you here!!! And like you said the gallery is very inspiring, and the site itself is wayyyyy to addicting! Welcome aboard!
Welcome welcome! Like everyone says, you're going to love it here.
I had to chuckle about your love of Garfield. My DH and I have an ongoing , um, situation with my MIL. Ever since I have known my husband his mother has been giving him Garfield paraphernalia (yes, I looked that up!). I asked him once why he loved Garfield so much. He said he doesn't - he really doesn't care for Garfield at all. One day he laughed at one of the daily strips and ever since then she has always given him Garfield stuff! He came home from college one day to find his whole bedroom redone with a Garfield theme! Sheets, curtains, a rug, comforter...everything! Just recently she sent us his and her mugs. One has Garfield and the other Lurlene (scary that I know her name!) and the mugs are shaped so they intertwine if you place them together.
I was thinking of selling this whole collection on ebay, because DH doesn't want to throw it out and hurt her feelings. Maybe I could just send it to you! ;)
Now quick. Look around you ~ see friends and family? Remember what they look like. You may not come up for air for a while.
And Princess Mi (our own Royalty, along with Queen Robin of Avatar) is right. Some info isn't necessarily stampin related (like your YaYa name!), but it's always so much fun here. Some of us never leave!!
You're hooked now, my friend! Enjoy!

Hi Jen, I'm waving at you from the opposite side of the US. Washington state that is. Welcome to this wonderful and most addicting site ever. You will learn so much on a daily basis. What wonderful teachers this site has. There is so much inspiration here that it does make you want to go out and start stamping. My problem is I can't get off the site long enough to stamp. Have fun here.
Sandy

WOW!!!!! I am so grateful to all of you for the warm welcome. Thank you!!! It feels so good to be here.
I have to admit that I started this process when I got into scrapbooking. Now, mind you, I have collected scrap supplies for almost 2 years, and I hate to admit this...but, I have never scrapped a page. During this process, I have picked up MANY, MANY stamps. I began stamping a little a few months ago, and since then (also hate to admit this), haven't stamped since then. I work full time, and the only free time I have is the weekends. I am soooo looking forward to getting into stamping. I am getting my wish list ready for SU!, and hopefully, by the end of the weekend, I will place my order. I would love to become a demo, but I do not know of anyone who stamps. (not very popular where I am in NY)
I am sure that someone here will talk me into becoming a demo. (hint....hint...)
I have only been here for 1 day, and I have spent over 12 hours browsing the site.
Anyway, thank you all again for such a warm welcome.....looking forward to getting to know all of you!!!
Hugs and Smiles.....

Hi Jen,
I'm a New Yorker too! Just about an hour upstate from you in Putnam County. Welcome to the site...be prepared, it will suck you in...but in a good way! I had to be dragged from the computer last night by my DH for dinner!
Hi Jen,
Can you see me waving from Utah? Yep, that's me behind all of my 47 rose bushes! Welcome to SCS and have fun. Remember, it's not addiction if you make friends and learn new things and if it makes you so happy!
Kim
Hey! Welcome to the lovely land of stamping in NY (also enhanced by those of us who are garden lovers, although I only have a rose few bushes myself)! There are actually LOADS of us SU stampers in NY, and more all the time!
I'm in Rockland Co, only about 20 miles from NYC, and travel to LI to see my son (who is SINGLE, by the way, ladies!! ) on a regular basis.
Please let us know if you have any questions along the way. This is the friendliest bunch of folks I have ever met, and certainly the most talented!
All my best,
Nancy (the OTHER Nancy in NY!)

Jen - where in NYC are you? I am in NY also, near Columbia University. I would love to meet more stampers in the city - I feel like there aren't a whole lot of us here. All or at least most of my friends look at me funny whenever I talk about stamping. Anyway, welcome! I also am relatively new to this site, but love it for all the wonderful ideas.
Caroline - I actually work for Columbia, but on their Lamont-Doherty Observatory campus! Funny!
Jen - where in Jersey to you work? Bergen Co?
All my best,
Nancy

Hi Jen!
Welcome to the group. I'm from New York too - Long Island. This group is very talented. You'll get lots of ideas here. If you're ever in town, give a holler and maybe we can stamp together.
