I'm New and I have questions !
[FONT=Tahoma]Hello everyone! I've been here for about a week...posted a few replies to a couple of you about your wonderful artwork and asking for directions/templates. First off, everyone here is so nice and so helpful!! THANK YOU !! And can I just say that this site is like DISNEYLAND -- I've never ever seen such wonderful artwork, ideas, techniques and more.
Yep, I'm a newbie from Idaho. I've been stamping for over 10 years and in my almost 10 years on the internet - this is the best site I've ever come across - so thanks for letting me in.
I have a couple of questions I have noticed this is "sorta" a site for SU DEMOS, but do know you don't have to be a demo and I'm sure there are consultants here from other companies. My main question is I happen to know in the past year or so A LOT OF SU ladies that switched to CTMH. I use to sell CTMH. But what I would like to know is how many FORMER CTMH CONSULTANTS are now SU DEMONSTRATORS?? I'm curious for several reasons.
I already have an interest in joining SU and I see BIG DIFFERENCES in both companies and I especially see some cool things with SU that CTMH doesn't have. And I can also say there are cool things that CTMH has/does that SU doesn't and that's okay too !! I'm not here to bash either company, their both great, we all know that. My "heart" will always be with that other company, but I'm liking what I'm seeing and hearing about SU now..So if you used to be with CTMH and now are with SU, I would like to know WHY did you CHANGE COMPANIES?
Once again this site is wonderful and the few of you I've messaged back and forth have been so nice!! THANKS
Judy

Thanks for all the nice "WELCOME's" !! I woke to 35 emails from SCS site and someone named Catie I think all the same emails about a photo first question is why over 35 emails on the same topic and is this an email for me to upload a photo of myself? But why 35 of them?
LOL just thought it was weird, but thanks ladies for the wonderful replies here.

Good morning and welcome from Canada! I'm an SU demo (just for fun) and love it!
Catie is one of the moderators. Did you put some photos in your gallery? If so, when they are approved, or if they are moved (example: you uploaded a 12x12 scrapbook page into the gallery section based on a stamp set name, they may feel it's more appropriate in the scrapbook layout section of the gallery and move it) you will get an Email notifying you. I usually get double Emails. That's the only thing I can think of!
Welcome to SCS! Hope you have a comfy chair!!!
Jen

No Jen, I've not been here long enough to upload anything artwork, photos infact, not sure I know how to do it, all I know is I got 35 of the same emails no biggie-just wondering. And when I open them, their blank and says "no photo here" something like that.
thanks,

Welcome Judy! I'm glad that you are "joining" us. Have you tried to PM Catie & ask her about this? I bet she can help you.
Have a great day,
Melissa

HI Judy and welcome - as for the emails - just send a pm to Catie and ask her...maybe there is a glitch in the system that they need to know about??
Secondly I do not have any answers for you about the two companies but I love SU Products and have considered becoming a demo several times...I have not had the chance to see CTMH products in person but I have seen the catalog and they have some neat stuff....
Sorry I was not of any help but I am glad you found SCS. Sit back and relax!

I really can't answer, as I've never been a demo for any co, but... I recently have been introduced to CTMH & TAC. I must say that I really like all 3 companies, but for different reasons. I thought of demoing for one of these companies, & after long thought & searching of the catalogs, I decided to go with SU. Here is why: the color families, the fact that all the colors match & because I like the paper a little better than CTMH. I prefer the see-thru stamps of CTMH, (plus I don't have to cut them), but after seeing the new catalog, I fear that the company is just too geared towards scrapbooking & doesn't have a very large stamp collection. As for TAC, you still have to cut the stamps, although you don't wood mount them & there are quite a few I will get, but they don't have the paper/inks/markers etc that SU has. So... that's why I am going to be a hobby demo for SU...

Monica, you took the words out of my mouth!! I love CTMH always have, always will - -but the last few years it's turning more towards scrapbooking and less about stamping. And since I learned stamping over 10 years ago before scrapbooking became the "craze" - - I will always consider myself a stamper first. Yes I scrapbook, but I learned that with CM products. LOL
So the ONE thing that really has me hooked on SU is that it's more of a stamping company. And this time around if I decide to join - - only has a hobby, for the discount, and I would like to have a monthly club to keep my minimums -- - no downline, no business end at all.....just for fun. I was really into the business end with CTMH and frankly never stamped for myself. So I've enjoyed now being able to stamp for myself and such.
Also it took me several months to truly say I like the acrylic stamps -- I do now, but I didn't at first.....but I can't wait to get my hands on SU wood stamps!! LOL -- there's something about wood. Don't get me wrong, I love my acrylic ones too - - but there's something about wood.
Thanks for the nice reply -
Judy
