Default Hello from Oregon; and really stupid questions

Hi, my name is Kelley. I'm new to this site and a fairly new paper crafter. This site looks like an amazing resource but in reading some of the posts, I have a couple of questions:

What does bump mean?

Also, what does subbing mean?

Sorry to be so dense, I'm also new to forums...can you tell?

Thanks,

Kelley

Hi Kelley!

It's not dense! It's like another language!

If you look at the main forum homepage, you will see the most recent threads in each forum. People "bump" or respond to threads, or sub, to keep those topics on the front page so that they will catch people's eye and they will respond to them.

It's usually done when a person is looking for an answer to a question they need answered quickly.

Welcome! I can't wait to see what you do. Feel free to contact me if you need anything!

Lydia

Hey there
"subbing" is a way to write a post into a thread so you get email notification. You'll also "sub" if you make a comment in a thread or other post. Another way if you want to be covert is to use the drop down menu to the top right of the thread called "Thread Tools"

You might also see BTT which is another bump notice to get that thread to the top oi the new posts listings.

Have fun checking everything out!

Hi Kelly, and welcome from New Zealand. This was the first forum I had ever joined too (joined in Jan this year) and am still finding my way around. Thanks for your questions as I had not heard of bumping or subs either. We can learn together!
