Smile Hello from Illinois

Hi everyone! I am not really new to Splitcoast - but I don't think I have ever posted on here!

I am from Central Illinois and love to stamp, make cards and scrapbook anything my children are doing. I am a mother of 2 (almost grown) children. I have a 21 year old daughter that is a Junior in college and a 17 year old son that is a senior in high school.

I have a general cardmaking question for everyone - Do you decorate the inside of your card and if so --do you do both pages or just one?
I generally do both - unless I am in a hurry then only do a decorative strip to match the outside on the right hand side or bottom depending on the direction of the card. I would love to hear what other people do!

Hi Tina and welcome from New Zealand! I don't bother decorating the inside of my cards. I put in an insert on the right hand side (or bottom for top-folding cards) which I write on but I don't stamp or decorate it in any way. The insert is just copier paper cut to slightly smaller than the half of the card, and attached using snail adhesive along one edge.

Welcome from West Ky. Glad you finally posted. You asked about doing the inside of cards. It all depends. A lot of the time I don't. Been giving it a lot of thought lately.
May start doing more. I also need to decorate the envelope sometime. Glad to have you aboard.

Hi Tina! I'm from Central IL as well! I don't usually do much to the inside of my cards.... Maybe just a small stamp or coordinating embellishment in one of the corners or something, if anything.

that is a great idea Stephanie! I am always wondering what to do on the inside, and I hate the idea of writing on the card. I think I will start including an insert with the writing.

Tina,
I like the idea of decorating my cards on the inside as well, but find that it seems a bit bulky with extra paper layers. Sometimes I stamp on the inside, or add a small strip of matching paper to brighten it up. I have added cut out stamped images as well.

I can't seem to get away from dementional cards. I use the smallest flat rate shipping boxes from the post office. (they are free!) You can cover them to match you card too..If I plan on mailing a card I try very hard to keep it flat.
