Default Card Front?

Okay, this may possibly be the most stupid question ever asked, but I have to ask it....

What is a card front? I want to join a swap, but when they ask for Card Front are they talking about just something you can attach to a card or are they talking about a 1/4 sheet of card stock with something attached to it? Please help me.

Sorry for such a stupid question.

Default Card Front

No question is a stupid question!

A card front is just like it sounds. You create just the front cover of the card, thus saving you cardstock. So if you are creating a standard size card, you would divide your 8-1/2"x11" cardstock into fourths for the base, each base measuring 4-1/4"x5-1/2". Add your layers, stamping, and embellishments to just the top side of the card. On the back side, be sure to include your name, email address, and the recipe (what you used to make the card front) in case the recipient wants to case or ask you how you created your wonderful piece of art.

Have fun swapping!

When I make a card front rather than a full card, I make it slightly smaller so the recipient can mount it on a folded piece of cardstock without having to trim it down or end up with a card that won't fit into an A2 envelope. Since most of us make cards that are 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", I make card fronts that measure 4" x 5 1/4".

Clear as mud?

I have often thought I should be making card fronts smaller too. What do most people do?

I just did my first swap and wished I had done the cardfronts a little smaller so they could be mounted on a card but I didn't know if that was good swap etiquette or not!

I always just make my card fronts 5 1/2' X 4 1/4" if someone wants to trim it down later it can be done.
