Adding height to paper shape

Hi. This is my first time posting and didn't know what a good title would be. What product could I use to add height to a paper shape. I have Nuvo drops, but they spread. I'm tracing the shape of a gear on a steampunk picture because my gears do not fit this particular area, but I want the gear to look real--to be dimensional.

Thanks for your help.
Barb

Stenciling paste is my first thought. You could use a toothpick to form the gear notches.

Never thought of that! So simple. Thanks Carla.

That card will be a nice way to start your gallery! Looking forward to seeing your creations.

making several layers and gluing them together is also a good way to get some depth- a lot of stampers do that with die cut words. It makes them pop!

You could pop it with adhesive dots. Some are very thin/thick. If you are going to cut out the shape to make the stencil...you could also just cut the image and pop it? Layering as suggested...can be done flat or with the dots.
