Does anyone know the dates of FlyLady's cruise this year? I don't follow her plan but would do my own tidbits around the suggestions.

Haven't seen Melissa around so not expecting she will be our captain this year...anyone want to encourage people this year?

If I were doing it the ship would never leave the dock and I would have on my life jacket all the time! (Yep, I wore my life jacket under my Maid of the Mist rain coat on the boat ride at Niagara Falls.)

Wow, October. This year seems to be flying... anyone else feel this way?

Danny and I spent the weekend in Atlanta visiting my family. It was a nice, chill weekend - no real activities planned. Just relaxing and chatting. One of the highlights was getting to spend some time with my nephew’s 1 year old. My dad is his favorite person and it’s so sweet to see!

Good morning! Thanks for the birthday wishes! Kids are off to school and I am home for just a little bit.

We can't find the mouthpiece for Archer's saxophone and have torn the living room (where he practices) apart looking for it last week. I'm going to go by the school to check lost and found in a little bit and then head to the music store for a replacement if it isn't there. Then I'll run by the library to return things and pick up my requests. Then we'll come back here. The door guy is coming back to do put up the trim and prime them. Not sure how long he'll be here. Hoping to either read or bake or mend while he's here. I don't think I could do anything more involved with someone here.

Good morning yall.

Happy October!!!!

Crazy busy past few days. Kids just left this morning. Gonna work on regaining my home!😏 between jack and dog my house is a mess! It was joyful and worth it.

Dh had a great retreat. I had forgotten that there were 2 events that I could go to so that took up a lot of my time. Well worth it!!!!! Refreshed my spirit.

From Faye carried forward from last month

Love where I live and thankful for all the years we've had here, the drive for shopping is worth the every day view we have and quietness!

Thanks I so needed that reminder. I do sometimes hate the drive!!!! But its getting better since I dont have to go in multiple times a week.

Good morning, peoples! . Happy birthday, Paula! I'm just back from the chiropractor and have some things to do before going in to work this afternoon. I had sort of a rough weekend emotionally, but then came down with a cold on Sunday morning, so that sort of explains it. I'm hoping whatever the Dr did this am will shorten its duration, but I am SO thankful that it hit just now because I have both this morning and all day tomorrow off work so maybe I'll have time to rest and recuperate before going back at it full steam. . I'm trying to decide whether to push through it and do stuff this morning or just lay low and rest since I have to close tonight. I'd like to just go make some cards, but it is cold and damp in the basement and that doesn't sound very pleasant right now. Decisions, decisions!!

I never really did the holiday cruise. Much of it just didnt apply to me or seemed redundant. 😏
I wouldnt be the best one to lead this but maybe we all could just post occasional helpful thoughts or ideas that help us get thru the holidays.

For instance
I have made a menu for thanksgiving and Christmas Eve/Christmas Day meals. Which I put in top loader plastic pages. Then I made shopping lists for those menus which I print out and put behind the menus. Each year I print out the shopping lists add any extra needs and I dont have to think about that.

My gifts have become small preferably homemade items with a check for what the kids want or need. Saves me endless shopping and worrying if they will like something.

Decorating is pretty much the same for me each year. I took pictures and just refer to those and it goes faster for me.

I don’t know anything about the cruise. I thought you were talking about a literal cruise (trip on a boat)... will have to go read about it. Lol
For now,
Package is ready for PO
Dogs are bathed and are now taking their afternoon siesta
Dryer just finished; guess I will get my afternoon coffee going and fold those things while it brews.
After coffee break, I’m hoping my Devin will get home and have time to take me to the PO and pick up a couple of things at the grocery store. We have a pumpkin themed potluck at work tomorrow and I’m missing an ingredient the casserole I’m making.

We are having a wonderful day. Asher is being so good and we've been busy! Getting lunch prepped. After lunch we have pumpkin cut out cookies to make! Dough is chilling now.

Door guy isn't feeling well so isn't coming. I need to eat lunch, pay Best Buy, and then do something useful until it's time to get the kids. Not sure what we're doing this evening. Got invited out, but I kind of want to stay in. Will check in with Jeff in a little on that.

Faye, I don't think I'd be a good cruise leader either. I've got a different set of holidays in there, I refuse to decorate ahead, and we never have company.

We don’t really add a lot of decor. Two reasons, 1. The pain of putting things away afterwards and 2. we sometimes travel to see family and I don’t want it to be obvious when we are gone. Thankfully, we have a neighbor who LOVE lights; they put up enough for three houses or more

Morning! Phebe came home just completely wiped out and feeling sick. I'm surprised she didn't come home early, but must be it didn't hit her until she paused lol!! She fell asleep on our bed while I took a shower and slept for an hour. Then laid low all evening and didn't eat. To bed early and slept all night except for a potty trip....I made her drink a lot last evening!! But she still isn't feeling on top of things this morning. Hopefully a day of rest will make all the difference. And Asher is sleeping in, miracles be.

I had no concrete plans for today, so home we are! The oven is on it's self cleaning cycle. Always nice to have something working for ya'!

Good morning! Sleepy today. Hoping to run to the mall for my makeup freebies. Other than that, laundry, dishes, reading, etc.

Hope Phebe feels better soon, Rebekah!

Good morning yall.

Tonight we have a welcome back potluck and service for all the guys who went on the Walk. Think Im gonna make meatballs.

This weekend we are going out in the rv so I need to make meal plans for that and shop tomorrow.

Today we have 2-3 crews coming to work on the barndominium. The ac guys to finish up the ducting. The dry wall guy for an estimate. And another guy to install the glass slider door. Dh is working on the electrical stuff. Hes talented that way. We are planning on having it at least inhabitable by thanksgiving. For me that means the bathroom done, walls up, ac/heater working and lights working. We hope to actually have flooring in and painted also. We actually have some bedding although Im not sure it will be the permanant stuff. We have a king size mattress from the rv but need a frame and box springs. I think we have a double sized bed from the kids but I want that to be a queen. We have a very nice queen sized headboard from my dsis.

I will need to shop for sheets. I have plenty of quilts. Ill need curtains. I need to look over our towel collection and see if we have enough.

Hmmmm Im sure there is more. Better start thinking and making lists.

Thank you for the get well wishes. She has perked up a lot now that Asher is up and playing! Still sounds very stuffed up.

Sipping some coffee now. Getting some little odd jobs done today. No dinner prep for me b/c it's my night out so it's Dad Duty night!

Hey! Laundry is in the dryer, most of the sink dishes are washed, I got my birthday freebie at Ulta and picked up a couple of better for you nail polishes with the birthday money my aunt sent, went by Whole Foods and found kosher chicken broth and a 2 lb bag of water process decaf. Eden is napping. I'm going to room rescue the living room and kitchen while she is sleeping.

After I put Asher down for a nap, I laid down with Phebe on our bed and we both fell fast asleep! Gracious! I fully intended to get up and get some things done while she napped, but alas, I napped too. So I feel like burning a late night hour or two likely this evening lol. I was so groggy from my nap, I didn't even feel like taking my night out. Wasn't ready with anything packed up, so just stayed put. Phebe liked that better anyway, so we were all happy.

Tomorrow it's Asher's turn to go my friend's house for a couple of hours after story time. So hopefully, I'll have that time to myself. Will see how Phebe feels. Based on today, I think she will likely go to school, but will see what she wakes up like.

Good morning! Asher is sleeping in and Phebe is off to school. Hope she does ok. I told her she can always come home if she really, really doesn't feel good or gets super tired. I think she'll be ok. She had a wonderful rest day yesterday and slept well all last night.

I will have a couple of hours to myself this morning all going well. Hope to use it wisely in the studio.

Sipping my smoothie and eating a few eggs. Should be powered to go!

Home to a few moments of peace and quiet. Oh how I do appreciate these moments and my dear friend who offered this idea at this the right time in my life this past year. Wow.

Hmm, my internet is going in and out today. Had a post that zapped into the ether.

Pretty basic day ahead. Want to run a couple of quick, cheap errands: Sephora (for free stuff otherwise would not be cheap), Hobby Lobby (glue), and Wal-Mart or Aldi (a few things we are out of). Door guy might come back today. Want to read my library book (The Hate U Give). Dishes, laundry, and making a dent in all the cluttered flat surfaces. Kids get out 40 minutes earlier on Wednesdays, so I always have to make sure I remember that, lol!

I'm glad my cobwebs are in now! Faye, I know you don't do Halloween, but just know your cobwebs are A-OK for this month at least!!
