I haven't done much cleaning this evening. I was watching Nick and our nephew in the pool until 6. Then i had a Strongest Families call at 6:30 (I spent 30 minutes before it prepping for the call). Then i ate supper. After that i started at the dishes. I unloaded the dishwasher, reloaded and started the dishwasher, washed a load of hand wash dishes, and wiped down the sink counter. Now i'm watching Greys Anatomy before i get ready for bed.

We have been dealing with a weather phenomenon that I haven’t experienced in the US before... dust from the Sahara Desert has traveled 5,000 miles & has settled into our air. You can actually see it!

Paula, I have a couple of Jewish questions for you. I’ve been waiting patiently while you were gone, trying to remember to ask you.

Devin has gotten to know an archer who is Jewish. We had dinner with him & his parents while we were in NC & they talked about some of the big Jewish holidays were in the fall. Are those the kind of holiday that you would send a card? And if so... what kind of theme?? I did find a Hanukkah stamp on clearance at Hobby Lobby earlier in the spring... I just need to remember to make a note of the dates on my calendar.

I was waiting patiently for her return also but not because i had questions other than I like to hear tidbits about her little munchkins!

I like hearing about yours too...and I will be interested in learning more about the Jewish archer that isn't Archer! Sometimes I miss StampinLeslie...and just the other day I was talking about her to Julia because Julia wanted to know about the stuffed bears and stuffed tiger on our dresser...

Maybe I've been around for way too long...

I'm sure the thread Faye posted has better info, but my experience is that Rosh haShanah is a big card holiday in the fall and then Passover in the spring. You can always do a Star of David for any holiday, but specific themes for Rosh haShanah include apples and honey/bees, pomagranates, or a shofar. You can say Happy New Year, Wishing you a sweet new year, or L'Shana Tova (Good Year). Rosh haShanah this year starts at sundown Sept 9.

Good morning! Still settling back in at home. Yesterday we went to the park, library, and grocery store. I haven't been doing lots of cleaning/picking up yet and I need to! Hoping to make a good dent this morning, so we can do something more fun later in the day.

Wednesday:
Look up entry times
Call about voucher
Water plants/check for squash bugs
Pay Amex, Register
Pick up in entrance, kitchen, living room
Switch the soaps around until I get refills
Put turkey breast in fridge to thaw
Call Hyvee
Read
Get Archer's Doctor Who costume worked out
Decide on supper
Laundry

I have PTI's big Jewish holiday set ( I can't remember the name) and the little $5 set for Rosh haShanah, too, if you ever want images. I also have a couple of star of David dies.

Good morning.
Not sure what today will bring.

Misti, air quality is saying moderate here. But that is a norm. I’ve never lived where we have had a color coded air quality info thing. It has not changed/affect daily living for me so far.

So far.
Laundry folded put away
Started darks
Walked before it got too hot it was 86 when I went out and 96 on return. So jump in the pool for a bit. Now taking an epsom soak.

Up next
Flip laundry
Counter/backsplash wipe down
Windex shine appliances and mirrors

I think I’ll do 3’s today.

Then
Post first 3 sample cards
Update reading notes
Laundry

Is it 3’s if I’m making a list?

Make next sample card

Hmmm....contemplating if i should leave Facebook or not. Or just start deleting people.

I need calming in my life and Facebook is providing the opposite of that right now. I need to toss our the negative and bring in the positive.

Are you able to block people?

I struggled and finally quite Facebook...I have no regrets.

This is my little space of social media and when people check in I smile knowing they are alive...I do wonder if something happens to my on-line people that I will never know...

I actually wrote a card to someone recently that I hadn't heard from in a long time and said...I don't know if you are alive but I want you to know that I continue to think of you and appreciate the impact you had in my life. Maybe if you aren't able to communicate someone will let me know that and I'll continue to be thankful you walked part of my journey with me.

I got a card back that said...I am still alive...

Sometimes you need to reach out and let a person know you appreciate their influence in your life!

Happy Hump Day!

I do love the positivity that is this space. No talk of controversial religion or politics that seem to take up all my facebook newsfeed. Accepting everyone for who they are and not casting judgement. Thank you, ladies, for having a wonderful impact on my life.

We are getting ready to go out to practice. Didn’t get to any cards, still playing catch up from being gone.

I haven’t deleted my account completely, but removed the apps from my devices and only go on via computer every once in a while. It’s a good place to check up family and friends, and it’s used a lot business-wise, but it creeps me out it knowing how the info shared there gets used. For example, I was talking to someone at work about a visitor to the church; they literally pulled up FB on their phone and found them there, started scrolling through their pictures, etc.

We had to put a new sprinkler head on because it was hit by a lawn mower. I tried to adjust it myself yesterday and had water shooting straight up in the air. I’m sure if someone saw me it would have been comical. Well, tonight it’s Ed’s turn. He ended up so wet we decided to go swimming. He watched a you tube video and is trying to adjust it again. Yes we are new to sprinklers. We only used drip irradiation in our landscaping in PA.

It’s a beautiful evening on the patio.

The air does seem to have Ashlyn’s asthma cough acting up. I hope it passes quickly.

Good morning! The power is out. Getting ready for work with no water or hair straightener is going to be interesting.

Patricia, that stinks!
Ashlyn bought some sea salt beach hair spray. The idea is to mist your hair and let it go natural. It smells really good. Like the Hawaiian tropic or copper tone old tanning Latino with a hint of coconut. Being in and out of the pool so much I’ve been trying to use it more. I got my hair cut and the stylist told me I needed several inches off because of heat damage.
