Remind me what it is you don't like about the haircut?

I'm not sure what a hig fan is but it made me smile...

Slow moving day. It’s raining. Made and ate oatmeal. Cleaned the kitchen including hand wash and dry. Laundry going. Did shwsher going.
Hmmm maybe not such a slow day.😀

Dinner tonight, fish. Need a plan to go with that.

Next up, massage chair as my neck and shoulders are hurting.

Patricia, I love your hair!

Jayne, you don’t have to play VSN live. There should be enough chatter for it to still be fun!

I cleared the table and moved a lot of my stuff downstairs (in stacks, not set up). I need to get a few more things out of there. It's nice to see the table top again.

We need to eat lunch and head on to the library. I don't think I'm doing any other shopping/errands today.

Drinking some hot water and sitting for a few minutes in hopes my vision will return and not give me a headache!

Julia just left...I need to make a blueberry pie.

So cute, Patricia!

Way to go, Paula! I hope that you are able to think now. I feel like I want to color and maybe make a few cards, but I don't want any responsibilities with my stamping right now. I need to find out if I like it because I like it or if I just liked it because people said, "Hey, good job!" and it made me feel good. I'm doing a one post guest design thing this month and I found that I really don't have the energy to be a "designer" right now. Maybe I'm just too hard on myself, but I feel like I haven't (and really don't have a desire to) stayed up with the current trends. I do have visions of a stack of digis and stamped images sitting on my desk upstairs with my new copics (that I'm getting for Christmas) and coloring one or two a day and then making a few simple cards occasionally. (Like a colored image and a sentiment that I've cut with a rectangle or circle die and matted with a scalloped mat and plopped on a piece of designer paper on top of a card base. No cool scenes, no amazing layouts, no nothing.) That sounds fun, but most everything else sounds like too much work...

OK, so I got inspired this morning and made a really simple project for the guest DT post (it will be on my blog on Sunday) - and it was fun and I liked it! . It made me happy and gave me hope that I might be able to stamp again. Plus it finished up one of my Christmas presents, so it was win-win!

Now I need to do something more practical... like the laundry and dishes... before I go to work.

I really need to kick myself out of the house...must go shopping for groceries. Not willing to pay the price for the food at our local grocery store so must drive 25 minutes...all 3 stores are on the same intersection, it will be fine I'm telling myself...

Away with me!

Happy holidays, Paula.

Patricia, I think it looks great. I’m seriously thinking I should start going lighter to make the going grey easier when the time comes. But that time hasn’t come just yet!

I am so not feeling the joys of the season. I’m making myself keep moving and trying be be normal. Ed has had 3 contacts so far so hoping for some face to face time soon. He is hamdwling it much better then I am. He has never not had a job. So this is new to us. And I dislike being where we don’t know anyone. Sigh. Anyway. I hope you are all doing well.

Faye, I did get a card made as a thank you for pens that were made by Ed’s old boss and gifted to us. But still haven’t made any tags. But thank you for the encouragement. I love to get your texts.

Paula I finally made myself leave the house...I really like being home and can find any reason to stay home...I decided asking Don to grocery shop because I'm a wimp is not a good reason.

All cold food has been put away. Melanie wants to talk, I want to crawl in a hole.

Joyce...Don always suspected when the company was making changes...I think he's been without a job (and no prospect) 3 times in the last 7 years and then don't forget that time when he was working but not getting paid for 9 months in there too! Drastic changes happened with the first job loss, we have in the last year eased back into what comfortable again.

The most drastic change was we lived on a budget! Made a list of wants-vs-needs...and even our children had to make a list...amazing how much of our life was wants, not needs.

I learned by others' examples (insert Misti) and asking lots of questions on how to stop spending money we not longer had coming in...and what is priority we learned also.

I think these are good lessons wether we have money or not. It helps us to appreciate how much we have and wether or not our want is temporary or a true desire. I hate that I am letting go of so many “I really want its”. Which is why I think it’s a good idea to make a list of wants and then truly consider them. Will it actually bring joy in your life? Will it get used or stored.....

Dh wanted peanut butter cookies. Dough is in the fridge.😉

I wanted eggnog. Homemade and in the fridge. Homemade eggnog is soooooo much better!

Want to bake a pumpkin pie for guests tomorrow. Need to make pie dough to rest over night. Need to make filling to set overnight. Not enough egged though.
Dh has to run errands so he is picking up a few things for me.😉

Tomorrow is the Army/Navy or as I say Navy/Army football game. We have started watching it with our new friends. He is a West Point graduate and Dh is a Naval academy graduate. The rivalry is a strong tradition and we have fun with these parties. Fortunately both men are reasonable so no angry words or hurt feelings. Army is supposed to win. They have a very good team this year but there is something about this rivalry where the underdog often wins. Army won last year but navy had won for 14 straight years before that. So.... game is on😉

I’m making queso and chips
Chicken wings with cellery and carrots and blue cheese dressing
Chili with all the fixings
Eggnog
Pumpkin pie
Peanut butter cookies

They are bringing clam dip and a salad.
I’m sure there will be some beer and wine drinking also.

I'm not sure of the nuance here. Do you mean that you hate that you have to say no to things you genuinely want or more that you have been wanting things that you only thought were important but it turns out they aren't? Or something else entirely? Sometimes I over-analyze and miss the obvious.

I don't have any grey yet either, but that may be because I'm only 29, right, Faye?

So sorry that you are going through job issues right now, Joyce. I struggled with finding a job for a few years....it's not easy....but you learn to adjust to it. Hopefully he will find something soon.
