Default 100 days of Creating 2015

I know there are still a few days left in 2014, but if anyone is wanting to start planning for this, you can start a few days early!

This challenge is to inspire your creative mojo, to encourage you to do something. But at the same time, it's a challenge. While it seems like most of us have plenty of items to use, the goal of this challenge isn't a spending freeze, it's a creating challenge. If you want to use it as a motivation to use what you have, great... but that isn't going to be the focus of this.

Bonus points for getting things mailed!

The official dates will be Jan 1-April 10.

I'm in. Of course I'll take my no stress approach. The hardest part for me is the counting. I can't pay attention long enough to keep on track.

T.Joy posted an idea in one of her Grace Works newsletters about putting it on the calendar a week early to mail the card. I'm hoping that works for me in no late cards! #fingerscrossed

Uhm...I already got sidetracked and forgot...so thanks for the second reminder...

I got thinking about how details help me in realizing that I accomplish more...generally speaking I think I accomplished nothing in 2014...yet reality of detail shows me I did!

I'll take detail...

Now...go pm T.Joy before I take another sip of that yummy hot chocolate that I don't need!

Patricia, Kra and Pam W I like your lists. I know I need to come up with a list as well.

So here's my start

Sewing -
curtains for laundry room
2 lap quilts
5 table runners
2 pillows
pillow shams x 4
pillows x 2 or 3
throw for end of bed

Papercrafting
stash of cards (thank yous, birthdays, anniversary, sympathy)
color some stamped images
finish and send out 3 packages that should have gone out long ago
work on creative ways to store paper, punches, embellies for crafting
work on scrapbooks, start with Rowdy, fewer pics > dgs1 also fewer things

Needle work
try hand crocheting eternity scarf
finish scarves started (knitting)

That should be a really good start

Count me in. Not sure I will be able to MAKE something every day but going to try to spend an hour a day sorting and purging in my craft room on the days I don't create anything.

Angie - I think my list will be more like your list - at least an hour a day on the days I can't craft and finish something.

Thankfully it says 100 days of creating...sometimes creating clean is needed in those 100 days...

For me...anything is better than nothing...and that "anything" may be only 5 minutes pondering something...but in my mind that is creating!

I used an image that I colored last year to make a card today. Barely got it finished & got in the mail before the postman arrived. Have procrastinated on that card for over a week!

Good Morning,

Thanks for letting me pipe in here.

My first create goal is my crafting space. The month of December we did a bit of remodeling in our home. Everything is pulled out of every nook and cranny. And, not necessarily in the room it belongs. We even ended up renting a storage locker. What is there I haven't a clue. This underundertaking mat take the entire 100 days.

My daughter has two canvas projects she would like me to make for her apartment.

Complete and start another baby blanket (crochet). There are also some cowls I would like to make.

I have had knitting needles forever and I think I am going pick up a skein of yarn and see if I can figure out what to do with it.

Anyone have any good projects for beginners? Or tutorials for something simple, that will give me a step by step?

This is what I knit...it is all I knit...and I still make mistakes, which I don't take out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6t1upQeNAE

I only knit to 40...I have smaller size hands and 50 stitches is too large for my liking...but I use any that are given to me as gifts but smaller is always better for me...in dishcloths...not in clothes!!!!

What size needles do you have...I use 5,6,7 or 8...the smaller needle makes a smaller cloth...not an issue.

I first taught myself the knit stitch with a book and made a plain knit stitch (garter stitch) dishcloth. Then I learned to purl using a book and made a dishcloth of stockinette (knit a row, purl a row), then I learned Grandmother's Favorite which is the tutorial kramomma linked. I just did dishcloths for a few months, and in the last year I've knitted a child's cardigan, a scarf, several gnome hats, coffee cozies, and am working on a cowl. I'm aiming for socks, another hat pattern, and something that requires a gauge swatch this year.

Thanks Paula, I'll have to pick up some yarn and set to work. My ultimate goal is to make an infinity scarf. I could wear them daily if I had enough of them. Here is a free e book I found.

Honestly it sound foreign to me, so I'll have to wait until I play with the beginner book first.

Talking I'm In ... YAY 2015

whew, I'm sure not quite as creative as all of you lovely ladies have posted (so if any of you want me to model one of the lovely scraves you have knitted or try one of the cupcakes, feel free to PM me for my address, LOL) but creativity definitely helps me "de-stress" and I loved the challenge last year so I'm in.

I can't wait to "oh" and "ahh" over what you come up with!
