Faye has joined us too!

Need to figure out where my total is for the month. Placed a SU! order and my LSS is having its garage sale this weekend. It runs Thursday thru Sunday. Stopped in last night. It was the first time I had been able to go on the first night. Holy buckets! I could not believe how much more stuff there was on the first night than there is on Saturday. Bought several items, but think I showed some restraint. As I shopped I put stuff in my basket, then before checking out went thru and put back about half of what I had picked up. Bought 5 stamp sets, 4 embossing folders, a punch, 6 die sets, a dozen bottles of glitter and a card kit and spent $70. Don't think I will be spending any more for a while. Pretty much used my craft budget for the year this month. OH! The best thing I got were 17 of the old style Creative Memories sticker organizers. I use those storing dies.

Oh Ina that's so sweet to want to include Australia but for everyone else I didn't expect that as I know it's difficult. Please make any celebration card or a card just because.....I hope there is something in the challenge that includes a stamp or die or EF that you have..just have fun today.

Jayne you sure set a challenge, yesterday I had what I thought was a great idea as Australia to me I think of sun, beach and BBQ, couldn’t manage to cut out the bbq items so gave up on that idea but I’ve spent all this afternoon on another card which is almost finished, I’ve used all stash too, whoo hoo! Just letting it dry so I can upload tomorrow, I feel exhausted LOL, taxed my brain using colours I don’t usually use, not a fan of green although I have a drawer full of green card and papers!

I saw a comment about having twelve glitters, I hate to admit I have about thirty sticklers and well just about every colour glitter, our DIL very often buys me some as a stocking filler from the GSs, I do love glitter but!!! I do love my sticklers though.

I made a card for this Jayne's challenge only not remembering what it was she challenged us to use!

I made a card, that's important and I had fun doing it.

Hello Ladies, and WELCOME all of you newbies! I'm Sally Merla, and I tend to hang around silently and comment when I can. I do not update my totals as often as I would like, but so what...And yes, although I own too too much, as always my new year's resolutions include the using up of my stashes, but it just doesn't seem to keep me from buying all of the new wonderful things and creating more and more...Anyway, just wanted to let you know I exist and you'll hear from me from time to time...

Hello everyone i had fun in the sun! Lol! Not really...my son and his GF just got back from Jamaica. I picked up greek food for us and went to theirs. They only live about 7 minutes away by car. Sweet pea put together a video of the trip for me. Such a sweet person! The running commentary vfrom both of them was just great. Once they get their stuff put away they will give me a memory stick with everything.

I am so glad they had fun!

Sis Vicki, Jan and Faye...thank you for playing and having fun. I shall check your cards out when you post. Sis Vicki... Love it.

Jan...I thought I'd made it easy lol. I'm glad I'm helping you to use up your green stash. Sometimes it's good to be out of our comfort zone....this site has done that for me lots of time and I've learnt things.

Lynn, great haul. I bought Canada and US papers years ago and still need to use them. That's another trip I have to scrap. Glad your boy is home safely.

We are enjoying our time home alone whilst youngest is in Bali. I am enjoying not being a maid lol. At 29 he needs to be standing on his own two feet.

Sally, good to see you pop in now again. I have way too much stash and still buy new things. I am trying to be good but it's hard. I wonder what will happen to it all when I'm not here. I've said Dil1 and DGD can take it but I thi k as much as our Gd would love it her mum may not agree lol. I shall donate stuff as I get older and stamps I no longer need or like I think. There's always someone out there who would love it.

Time to finish my coffee and do the Monday chores...yuk. I hope to play later.

Happy Monday everyone. Enjoy. It's 35 degrees here..again. I would love some snow...Lynn send some over.

Sis Vicki it's up to you if you want to keep a tally of your totals. I have set my total back to $0 and here's what I "Pay" myself:

$2.50/card
$5.00/scrapbook LO (12x12)
$2.50/scrapbook LO (small ones)
$2.00 every time I post on SCS and load a card as it takes a lot of time LOL

Maybe we should pay ourselves every time we post on a thread...gee I would be really in the black as I post a lot LOL.

I add my totals after I have posted or created. To amend your total you just click on your avatar name at the top of the screen and go to edit your signature. Some people don't post their totals and I am thinking of not posting mine as I get confused. I just write mine down in my craft journal. I need to amend mine as I bought some Studio Calico stash at the beginning of the year and so I'm back in the red now LOL.

Just do what makes you happy and I won't be enabling you LOL...I am way too enabled by reading posts of what gorgeous stash everyone else has found.

Happy Monday

Morning! We have a snow day today, though we didn't get anywhere near the snow and wind they said we would. Boo! I'm a winter lover...and a snow day lover...so at least I got the snow day so my kiddos can stay home today!

I need to post some cards! My new year goal is 15 min of creative studio time every day except weekends, though I do usually get studio time every Saturday morning when DH takes the littles with him grocery shopping and errand running!! That's my no excuses studio time. So good! (I have two teen girls and two littles, one 5 year old girl and one 3 year old boy!!). I've been doing good with my goal. And also with my reading goal...to read one book a month...I'm on my 3rd book!!! LOL! Feels so good to my mind to be making time for reading and creating. Though it will be harder once good weather gets here. But I hope I have it better engrained in my mind how good it feels and therefore how necessary it is for me to have these two outlets daily even if just for 15 min!

Happy stamping! If I can keep the littles occupied, I should get a decent amount of stamping time today!

So we have a new neighbour, she’s actually from Toronto! Originally from Sunderland, UK a very northern town, anyway we didn’t get off to a brilliant start as they kept parking their car so we couldn’t get off our drive, they live two doors down on the opposite side of the road, every morning it was hard to get off our drive and Steve tried to catch them moving their car but never saw them so he left a note on the windshield asking politely if they could not block our drive as in an emergency it could cause a problem, anyway that was last week, today she came to say how sorry she was, didn’t realise etc, anyway we had a good chat so alls well. Seems she’s a long way from home!

Jan, this world is full of serendipity connections. I have encountered so many of them in my life.
In 1969, on a flight to Holland, I sat beside a couple from Toronto. It was my first airplane ride, and I asked the gentleman to take a photo of me at the window seat. His wife also ended up being in the picture. Two months later, I met a young man (who later became my husband) and I showed him my trip album. He focused on that photo and asked who the woman was, and I said, just a stranger on the plane. He asked if her name was Eva, and was her husband a doctor, and I said yes. Turned out the man was his cousin, and the couple were happy guests at our wedding the next year.
Another flight, a lady from San Diego sat beside me, and it turned out her sister's cottage was right behind our house.
Recently, a couple who moved fom the city, started attending our church, told about their daughter who had been imprisoned for 5 months and hubby for 25 months in China, on false charges as part of a political incident with Canada. Our church had been praying for them. Now the couple has written a book about their experience. It is an amazing read, and if any of you are interested, it is called 'Two tears on the window' by Julia and Kevin Garratt.
I could go on and on, but that is enough.

Too right Ina, when our boys were teenagers we came to Spain on holiday and we were in a place that had very few foreign tourists, anyway we are having a drink one evening and Steve was talking to a man who actually knew my SIL’s brother, she was with us at the time and they were talking and it turns out that on his beat as a police officer Steve was called out by this man who complained that when it rained he had a lake at the end of his drive, Steve being Steve told him that it wasn’t a police matter but he would suggest getting some ducks! The man was not amused at the time.

Here's my card. Its hard to see the embossed top and there is more fireworks on the center folded piece.

Jayne, I’ve had a little grain of an idea for your challenge, if I can make it work.
My brain is frazzled making those cards with folds, ha,ha, now I’ve got to squash it into an envie to post.

Our DIL has been in Vancouver for a conference all week, she flew home last night and they said they would be delayed as there was a technical problem with the plane, she was worried then but they had another message saying that it was only a small problem, the toilet would t flush so anyone needing to use the toilet would have to ask for a snall bucket of water, she said she daren’t go after she heard that, luckily it’s only a two hour flight, we were laughing at the thought of a bumpy flight with people carrying buckets of water down the aisle.

She’s off skiing this afternoon for the weekend with the GSs, she wears me out just telling me what she’s got planned.

Oh my! I'd probably pass on the restroom visit, too. I guess it would depend on how bad I had to go.
